Hey everyone! Happy President’s Day! I hope you’re enjoying your holiday. I wanted to share a card I created from all scraps using the new Blossoming Basket Bundle. This bundle is part of the second release of Sale-a-bration items. I love the new Basket Weave Dynamic Embossing Folder. It’s going to be the perfect addition to an Easter card to create a basket effect. And the best part about this card is it’s been created from all scraps!! Here are the measurements:
- Card base in Calypso Coral cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ (left over from another project)
- Soft Sued layer cut at 3″ x 4 3/4″, embossed
- Daffodil Delight layer cut at 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″
- Whisper White layer cut at 3 1/8″ x 3 1/8″
These colors really remind me of my mother-in-law. She decorated in these colors quite a bit, in fact, most of the house was done with them. I stamped the basket with Memento ink and colored it with the Bronze Stampin’ Blends marker. When you layer the color enough, it is an exact match to Soft Suede. I use that color for hair color a lot too. Then I colored the flowers with the Calypso Coral markers and Daffodil Delight markers. The leaves are colored with the Old Olive markers. I really love to color with the alcohol markers, it makes it so easy and your projects turn out flawlessly. The color lifter really helps when you go out of the lines too!
Once I was done coloring, I adhered that layer to the Daffodil Delight layer. I took a scrap piece of the new Calypso Coral Shimmer Ribbon and tied it in a knot around the Soft Suede layer and then adhered it to the card front. I have a bin that I always keep little leftover ribbon pieces because you never know when you need just a little piece. 😉 I added some dimensionals to the flower layer and added it to the the card front. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set in Soft Suede on a scrap piece, flagged the ends, and sponged on some Calypso Coral to break up the white from the flower basket piece. I added it to the card front with some dimensionals and sprinkled on some pearls. I thought the flowers could use some extra bling, so I brushed on some Wink of Stella. I really like how it turned out and if my MIL was still here, this would be perfect for her birthday card.
