Happy CASE-ing Tuesday and Christmas Eve Eve! I know this is a really busy week, so if you are here, thank you! In case you haven’t seen what we are casing (copy and share everything) this week, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:
Isn’t that a cute card? What a perfect idea for those that like to include photos with their Christmas cards!! For my take this week I decided to push myself to use colors that are not my favorite. I grabbed my 12 Days of Advent Calendar box to choose my products. At last look on the site, this box of goodies is still available. I know it’s a pricey item, but get sooooooo much product in it! The cutest exclusive pack of DSP, two stamp sets, two sets of dies, two different embellishment packs, two rolls of twine, some stencils and coloring tool, some gold glitter glue, two different packs of 3 x 4 cards, and the cutest ephemera/labels! It’s just a box full of crafty goodness that will put a smile on your face!! So let’s look at my card:
So, like I said, I challenged myself to use colors that are not my favorites, and in this case, the color combo of Basic Beige and yellow. I did follow the measurements for my take, which made it easier to concentrate on the creating part. While I like the piece of DSP I chose, I just would have like to have seen the background blue rather than beige, but that’s just me. I added it to a Basic Beige card base without the ribbon you see in the sketch. I chose the square I used from the ephemera pack and stamped my sentiment from the set included in the kit in Early Espresso ink. It’s hard to tell in this photo, but the polka dotted edge in is gold foil, so I added the little gold flag. Next I stamped the flowers from the kit in Daffodil Delight, once full strength and the once stamped off and then die cut them with the coordinating dies. I added them with dimensionals and some of the glitter glue on the flower dots and on the corner of the sentiment square. Somehow I smudged the glue on the sentiment square, so I added a bow in the gold and white twine from the Ornamental Christmas product line to bring in more gold. I like the subtly effect that twine has while it brings in more gold.
For the inside, I stamped another sentiment from the set in Early Espresso and a heart in stamped off Daffodil Delight. I also added another die cut flower that is stamped in Daffodil Delight.
Don’t forget to decorate your envelope! I added a strip leftover from the 6×6 sheet I used for the front to the flap – no waste!
So, while it’s not my favorite color combo, I think it turned out nicely. What do you think? Now it’s your turn!
