Happy Monday! Are you ready for a new week and a new Product of the Week? This week’s Product of the Week is the new Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2 pack. I love our Watercolor Pencils and was very excited to see this second assortment come out with some of our new colors. And what better way to showcase them then by coloring those beautiful roses in the Floral Statements stamp set! Here are the measurements of my card:
- Card base in Daffodil Delight cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Basic Black cardstock cut at 3 5/8″ x 4 7/8″
- Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″
I stamped the image in Tuxedo Black and then started coloring the leaves and stems. I used the Garden Green pencil first coloring the lines and base of the leaves, then I added the Granny Apple Green pencil to fill in the balance of the leaves. Then I used my Blender Pen to smooth out all the lines and blend the colors together. Next I took the Flirty Flamingo pencil and colored the base and shadow images of the roses, then I took the Daffodil Delight pencil from the original pack of Watercolor Pencils and filled in the rest of the rose. Again I used the Blender Pen to blend them together. When I had my rose garden at our previous house, one of my favorites was the Peace rose that is full of yellows and pinks, and this is what I was going for when I colored these roses. Next I took my Wink of Stella and colored the the images. This not only gives the images shimmer, but it will also blend in where you may have missed with the Blender Pen. I adhered this to the Basic Black and then to the card front, sprinkled on some rhinestones and ta da! You’ve got a beautiful thank you card.
After the last month of brown smokey skies, I wanted to create something bright and cheerful. What do you think? I just love the brightness that the Granny Apple Green gives the leaves!
