Hello and welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! I hope this first week of spring is a going well for you. Have you seen what we are casing (copy and share everything) this week over at the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group? If not, here’s a look at the sample and sketch:
I love that we have sketches to make creating even easier! Isn’t that card adorable? Those bugs are definitely cute! Since the Filled with Sweetness Bundle was on my desk, I decided to use it for my take….again. lol I just love this suite! I did change my take a bit though.
There’s just something about blue gingham that gets me every time! I chose a Basic White card base for my card. I think the Basic White works really well when there’s lots of layers; it keeps the weight of the card down when you mail it. I did follow the sketch for most of my layers and started by adding the larger DSP layer with Stampin’ Seal Adhesive. I then trimmed another piece and started to add some of the adorable checked ribbon from the suite, but I just didn’t like the way it looked, so I nixed it and just attached the layer without it. I then fussy cut two of the jars that are about the size of the circles in the sketch. I added the jars with dimensionals. I die cut one of the labels from the set – the labels alone in the die set makes it worth the price of the dies! I stamped the sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink and attached it with more dimensionals. I had the strawberry already stamped, colored and die cut in my pack of DSP that was never used from a previous project, so I added it with, you guessed it, a couple of dimensionals! It was stamped in Memento ink and colored with my Granny Apple Green and Strawberry Slush Stampin’ Blends. Then I sprinkled on the Strawberry Slush dots from the Strawberries and Dots embellishment pack for my bling.
For the inside, I stamped my sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink and added a 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ inch strip of the DSP. There was also one of the flowers left from a project, so I added it and another of the embellishments. I love flat embellishments! They make it so easy to bling up your inside of the card without adding any bulk! If you look closely you can see through the card base at the stamp I used for the back. That is one drawback to using the regular Basic White verses the Thick, but I’m okay with it.
And don’t forget to decorate your envelope! I added a 3/4″ strip of that adorable DSP.
