Hey everyone! Happy Thursday! Today’s projects for my Facebook Live are two alternates from the February Paper Pumpkin kit. Were you able to watch the live? If not, you can catch the replay on my YouTube Channel here. While you’re there, I’d love it if you would like and share my video, and of course, if you aren’t a subscriber yet, now’s your chance.  🙂

Remember the Flower & Field DSP from Sale-a-bration? Well, this kit actually coordinates with that paper! So now you can create even more beautiful cards when you break it apart like I do. Here’s a look at card 1:

Here are the measurements:

  • Card base in Thick Whisper White cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Card base from the kit cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 3 3/4″ x 5″ for the inside
  • Basic Black cardstock cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Flower & Field DSP cut at 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″
  • Basic White cardstock cut at 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″

I know several people have mentioned that they don’t like the card bases in the kit as they tend to be a little thinner then our regular cardstock, so my solution is cut it up into layers to use with your favorite coordinating cardstock! I chose this card base from the kit to coordinate with this sheet of DSP as I love the look of flowers and stripes together. I attached the DSP layer to the piece of Basic Black cardstock and then I pulled out that beautiful black ribbon from last month’s kit and wrapped it around twice securing it with Stampin’ Seal. I then attached that to the layer of card base from the kit and added it all to my Thick Basic White card base. I then took one of the labels from the kit and stamped the sentiment from the Happy Thoughts stamp set in Tuxedo Black ink. I added it to the card front with dimensionals, tied a bow in the ribbon and attached it with a Mini Glue Dot and sprinkled on some of the black sequins from the kit. Done!

For the inside, I stamped my sentiment from the Paper Pumpkin kit in Tuxedo Black and the flowers in Flirty Flamingo ink, stamping off first and colored the centeres with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.

I grabbed one of our envelopes and repeated the flowers without stamping off.

Now let’s look at the second card:

Here are the measurements for this card:

  • Card base in Blushing Bride cardstock cut at 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″
  • Card base from the kit 2 cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Flower & Field DSP cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″ and 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ for the inside
  • Basic White cardstock cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″

I love this color combination! And this sheet of DSP was my favorite from the pack. I think they could have sold a whole pack of just this pattern! After I trimmed all the layers to size, I glued them all together and attached them to the card base. I took the labe from the kit and stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black ink. I then layered the yellow polka die cut from the kit and added it to the card front with dimensionals and attached the sentiment tag with Stampin’ Seal. I added one of the flower die cut from the kit at the corner with dimensionals and then added a bow in the white twine from the Snail Mail pack with a Mini Glue Dot. I thought there was enough black in the DSP, so I used rhinestones instead of the sequins for my bling,

For the inside, I stamped my sentiment from the kit in Tuxedo Black ink and glued the layer to the second card base layer from the kit. I then added the strip of DSP and glued it all down.

I stamped the flowers from the kit in Blushing Bride ink on one of the envelopes from the kit.
