Hey everyone! Can you believe it? Two posts in one day!! Wow! I was playing with the February Paper Pumpkin kit with the succulents and I wanted to share some of the alternate projects I came up with. This kit is so adorable and there are refills available!! So if you love it as much as I do, don’t wait, get your refill now!! You can order it at my online store. The item number is 150333. As popular as this kit was, it will probably sell out fast.
For my first alternate I merely changed out the card base to a Fresh Fig card base and stamped the sentiment right on the DSP. I did tweak the twine some too. Those metallic enamel dots are gorgeous! They are very much like the Frosted Enamel Dots from the Holiday Catalog except in silver. I’m pretty sure this is my favorite of the bunch!
Here’s a look at the inside that I added a 3 3/4″ x 5″ layer of Whisper White for the sentiment. I wanted to keep it pretty simple.
Here’s a look at the second card.
I cut the DSP in half and added it to the left of the card base. Then I grabbed a scrap piece of Whisper White and stamped the cup in Tuxedo Black ink because I was going to color with our alcohol markers, the Stampin’ Blends. I colored the cup with the Rich Razzleberry combo and add the Dark Basic Gray for the “dirt” only because it went better then brown. I colored the succulent with the Mint Macaron combo set, and added some of the Dark Soft Sea Foam. Then I added just a touch of the Light Rich Razzleberry. I then stamped the sentiment in the Tuxedo Black. I grabbed a sponge and sponged on some Fresh Fig ink. I then added a layer of Mint Macaron and sponged it too. The measurements for these two layers are 2 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ and 3″ x 4″. I adhered them together, added the twine and bow and adhered it with dimensionals, then sprinkled on the dots. Here’s a look at the inside:
I stamped the cup again in Mint Macaron ink but I stamped off first so it wasn’t too dark. Then I stamped the sentiment right on top in Tuxedo Black. And here’s the final card:
I used a Soft Sea Foam card base for this card. I trimmed the DSP to 3 1/4″ x 4 3/4″ and added a 3 1/2″ x 5″ layer of Early Espresso. I adhered them both right to the card base. Then I took one of the sentiment layers from the kit and stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso. The layer was too long, so I trimmed it down and added it with dimensionals. I completely forgot to add those gorgeous enamel dots, but it looks just as good without them…well maybe. You know me and bling!! lol 😉 Here’s the inside:
I think this inside is my favorite. the Soft Sea Foam and the Early Espresso inks pair really well together. Because the Soft Sea Foam is a light ink anyway, I didn’t bother to stamp off first when I stamped the cup. The cardstock layers are 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ for the Whisper White and the Early Espresso is 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″.
Okay, so now you’ve seen my alternatives. Most of the items including the dimensionals were included in the kit, I just added a couple of inks and some cardstock.
