Hey everyone! How’s your Thursday going? Today we’re taking a look at the Falling for Leaves Bundle with some copper accents. Remember when the Copper Embossing Powder and the Foil Sheets came out how popular they both were? Like everything, the newness tends to wear off. Well, copper is not dead! lol So here are the measurements for today’s card:
- Card base in Merry Merlot cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Copper Foil Sheet cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″, embossed
- Whisper White cardstock strip cut at 3/4″ x 3 3/4″
I finally broke down and got the new Swirls & Curls Embossing Folder and thought it would look dynamite with a piece of the copper foil, and I was right! The copper just provides such stunning color to a project. Next I added that gorgeous Merry Merlot and Copper Reversible Ribbon and tied it in a bow, then adhered it to the card front. I stamped the leaf in Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with Copper Embossing Powder, then cut it out with the framelit. Next I cut out the largest stitched circle in Merry Merlot and adhered it to the card front with dimensionals. I took a piece of the Copper Metallic Thread and added it to the back of the leaf with some snail, then added the leaf to the circle with more dimensionals. I see others create beautiful accents with thread, and mine feels like I do when I try to wear my hair in a messy bun…just not quite right! lol Guess I need to work on that!! After the leaf was attached I thought the center just screamed for a rhinestone…so I just had to add one. I found a strip of Whisper White in my scrap bin that fit perfectly, so I stamped the sentiment in Merry Merlot, flagged the ends and added it with dimensionals; and let us not forget the rhinestones!
I hope you like today’s project. That copper and Merry Merlot combination is just stunning to me and I hope I carried that over for you too. Thank you so much for stopping by and please be sure to come back tomorrow for my Fabulous Friday project. Have a great evening.
