Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday! Did you get a chance to see today’s Facebook Live? If not, you can watch the replay by going here. After you’ve watched, could you like and share my video? I would really appreciate it. So Friday is Valentine’s Day and I know there’s a lot of red everywhere you look, so I thought I’d change it up a bit! And I know all those purple lovers are going to love this card!
Isn’t it cute? And there’s a surprise when you open the card! So here are the measurements for the card:
- Card base in Gorgeous Grape cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Highland Heather cardstock cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″ embossed with the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder
- Whisper White cardstock cut at 8″ x 5″, scored at 4″
After I cut my papers, I embossed the Highland Heather layer and glued it to the card base. Next I punched out the three hearts from the Pleased as Punch DSP and then two scalloped hearts in Whisper White cardstock and one in Gorgeous Grape cardstock. I stamped the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape in on one of the hearts and then glued them all to the scalloped hearts. Then I added the two matching hearts to the card front with dimensionals, leaving enough room for the third heart. That heart I doubled up on the dimensionals to give it extra height above the other two. Next I added some of the Gorgeous Grape Glitter Enamel Dots to the hearts. Now you could definitely do this same card in Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana and still use the Glitter Enamel Dots as the pack has Coastal Cabana colored ones. Isn’t it great how everything from Stampin’ Up! just coordinates so well? And easy!
For the inside I created a pop up. I cut down the Whisper White cardstock and scored it. Then I snipped it on the scored side at about 2″ and 3″ and probably about 1/2″ to 3/4″ in. You can tell I don’t measure exactly! lol Next I folded this at the score line making sure to pop out the section that was snipped. I then ran adhesive on one side, laid the other side down on the inside of the card with the scored side touching the card base score line, then folded the card base around the adhesive side. I then opened it up and added adhesive to the other side and closed the card. Adhering the cardstock to the inside this way just seems easier to me. Then I stamped the Happy Valentine’s Day in Gorgeous Grape on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and punched it out. I layered it on a Highland Heather scalloped heart. I added a couple of Mini Glue Dots to the back of the scalloped heart right on the bottom and glued it to the pop section of the inside layer.
Next I stamped the arrow in Highland Heather ink at the very bottom. I wanted to leave space for anyone to add a personal message.
You could always add a couple of stamped hearts up on the top half of the inside layer, but I didn’t want to take away from the sentiment. So what do you think? Have I convinced you to get your hands on some of that Pleased as Punch DSP? It is so versatile!! Remember it’s on a while supplies last status, so don’t wait!
