Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday! Did you have a chance to see my live Facebook this morning? Not to worry if you didn’t catch it live, you can catch the replay by going here. We had played with the Sale-a-bration Kerchief Card Kit this past weekend and I decided to see what else I could come up with for this adorable kit. The kit is an all inclusive kit with everything you need from pre-stamped tags to adhesive. You can make 8 cards, 4 of 2 designs, and you can get it for FREE with a qualifying purchase during Sale-a-bration. We always love getting free stuff! This kit is perfect for a grab ‘n go crafting kit or even a gift for a new crafter.

Here are the measurements for my alternate cards:

Red Kerchief card:

  • Card base in Early Espresso cardstock cut at 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
  • Kerchief card front cut to 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Petal Pink cardstock cut at 2 3/8″ x 7″, scored at 3 1/2″
  • Whisper White cardstock cut at 2 1/8″ x 3 1/4″

Pool Party Kerchief card:

  • Card base in Whisper White cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Night of Navy cardstock cut at 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ and 4″ x 5 1/4″ for the inside
  • Kerchief card front cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ for the inside

Now when you cut the card bases down, you need to cut 1/8″ off of each side on the card front to keep the pattern centered. After I trimmed the red card base down, I added it to the Early Espresso layer. To create the fun little card on a card effect, I cut a scrap of Petal Pink down and glued it to the card front. I added the gold polka dot vellum layer to the front of the card. Next I added some of the leaves to the back of the label from the kit and then added it all to the card front with dimensionals. To bring out more of the gold, I added a couple of the gold Metallic Pearls.

For the inside I cut a scrap of Whisper White to fit on the inside. I stamped the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings in Early Espresso ink and added one of the little flower gold foil die cuts with mini glue dots.

I thought that was a fun little alternate and it coordinates with the envelopes from the kit so well! I love it when everything coordinates!

For the Pool Party card, I knew I wanted to add Night of Navy and Whisper White cardstock, so I cut them down to fit. Because I was using so many layers, I went with Whisper White instead of Thick Whisper White. The kit actually comes with a Night of Navy shape, not quite oval and not quite round, so it didn’t really fit any of our dies, so I made my own. I cut out a scrap of Navy Blue in a Stitched Oval and a coordinating Whisper White scalloped oval. I glued them together and set them aside. I took the flower from the kit and added some Wink of Stella to give it some shimmer. I wanted to keep with the Night of Navy, Pool Party and White theme, so I punched out two sets of the leaf punch and added them to the back of the flower, and the added all of it to the oval set with dimensionals. I added this right to the card front with some Snail adhesive. I had a bow of the Whisper White Crinkle Seam Binding Ribbon left from another project, so I added that to the front with a Mini Glue Dot. I thought the label from the kit was too big, so I stamped the sentiment, also from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set, in Night of Navy ink and then added some pearls. I wish you could see the shimmer from the Wink of Stella in the picture. It just makes that flower pop!

For the inside, I cut down the back of the card from the kit and layered it with the Night of Navy and Whisper White cardstocks. Now you could definitely use a smaller white layer or choose a larger stamp for the inside, but I wanted to keep this project to one stamp set and just went with this size. The inside sentiment is also stamped in Night of Navy ink.

So what do you think? Isn’t it fun to see what else you can create with one of the Stampin’ Up! kits? All of the coordination really makes it so easy!!
