Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday! I hope your week is going well. Were you able to catch my Facebook Live this morning? If not, you can catch the replay here. As you know, the Last Chance List, aka the Retiring List has been out for about a week. I have been pulling out my stamps and trying to use the retiring ones one last time, and that’s what we’re doing today with the Hoot, Hoot Hooray stamp set.

Here are the measurements for today’s card:

  • Card base in Pineapple Punch cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
  • Whisper White cardstock 2 cut at 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″, one for the inside
  • 2018/2020 In Color DSP cut at 3″ x 4 1/4″ in Blueberry Bushel

We are also saying good bye to the 2018/2020 In Colors, three of which we are using today. A few weeks ago I saw a card on the internet that someone had created using black cardstock, white embossing powder and alcohol markers, so I thought I’d give it a shot.

I started by stamping my image with Versa Mark ink and then heat emboss white embossing powder on it. Next I pulled out my Call Me Clover, Lovely Lipstick and Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Blends Markers, our alcohol markers, and colored over the embossed image. I love how vibrant the colors look on the black! I then cut it out with the largest stitched oval from the Stitched Shapes dies and added it to a scalloped oval in Pineapple Punch cardstock. So then I took a piece of the In Color DSP and glued it to the Whisper White mat. Before I added it to the card front, I added a piece of the Whisper White Polka Dot ribbon, some dimensionals and then attached it. I added the scalloped oval to the card front with dimensionals and then added some pearls.

The leaves look a little blotchy and you can add more of the marker to it, but you need to be careful as it will make the leaves too dark. I wanted the bright, almost neon, look to it. For the inside, I just stamped the flower on the lower corner of the inside layer in Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with the same markers. I left the sentiment off until I’m ready to send it out.

What do you think? I love how simple it is to create this! Simple is always good! If you didn’t see this stamp set in the catalog, you’re not imagining it. It was in our Beginners Brochure and will be retiring soon. It’s the perfect stamp set to create a cute, quick and easy card. If you would like to add this to your stash, just head over to my online store. The Host Code for May is QZ3HRZ94 and when you place an order of $40.00 or more, I’ll send you a surprise gift with your thank you card. Everyone loves to get happy mail!! Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope  you have a wonderful Wednesday.
