Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday!! Since it’s Wednesday, you know what that means….Facebook Live!! Did you catch the live video this morning? If not, that’s okay, you can catch the replay here: https://bit.ly/3c341Nz
I know that we are in the middle of Easter week and I wanted to create an Easter card for you. Well, it didn’t exactly turn out to be an Easter card, but it is definitely one we need with what’s going on in our world today!
Here are the measurements for the card:
- Card base in Purple Posy cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Whisper White cardstock 2 cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″, one for the inside
- Vellum cardstock cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″, embossed with the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder
If you follow my blog on a regular basis (and if you don’t, you should!! lol), you know that I am a blogger for the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group. This card actually was inspired by yesterday’s sample! I loved the look of the embossed vellum on the sample, so I know I wanted to use it today. I started by cutting my vellum and then embossing it with that gorgeous 3E embossing folder. It it is just a stunning folder and if you don’t own it, you really need to add it to your stash! When I added it to the Purple Posy card base though, it just didn’t pop as much as I wanted, so that’s why I added that layer of Whisper White underneath. I attached the two layers together with some Snail adhesive. Remember, when you are attaching vellum to anything, be careful where you add your adhesive as it will show through. Next I added a piece of that beautiful Tri-Color Ribbon. Isn’t it pretty? I know all the purple lovers adore this ribbon! So I could place the knot right where I wanted, I actually just cut a strip long enough to adhere to the back of the layers and cut a piece to use as the knot after I centered my ovals. I then added that to the card front and stamped my stitched oval, that is in Purple Posy. I stamped the flowers in Gorgeous Grape ink and then glued it to a Gorgeous Grape scalloped oval. I added that to my card front with dimensionals, and then added the knot right next to the left side of the scalloped oval. I then stamped my cross in Soft Suede and the banner in Gorgeous Grape ink and die cut them with the Cross of Hope dies. I added the cross to the oval with dimensionals and the banner over that with more dimensionals. For my bling I used some of Pretty Peacock Rhinestones.
For the inside, I added the Bible verse to the inside cover of the card. I thought it was especially meaningful for our situations right now.
Then I stamped the flowers again on the inside Whisper White layer, stamping off first, and then the sentiment, both in Gorgeous Grape ink.
I really, really love how this card turned out! I even felt a lot of comfort while creating it, which is back to that whole “our crafting is the best form of therapy” thing!
