Today we are taking a last look at a few of my favorite items that will be retiring, the Starburst Punch, the Leaf Punch and the Layered Leaves 3D Embossing Folder. I am so sad to see these go, and like I’ve told the girls in my classes…get yours before they’re gone cuz I am still going to use them! 😉
Here are the measurements for my card:
- Card base in Thick Whisper White cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Perennial Essence DSP cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Balmy Blue cardstock cut at 1 3/4″ x 4″
- Perennial Essence Vellum cardstock cut at 1 3/4″ x 2 1/2″
- Whisper White cardstock cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″ for the inside
I am so happy to see this stamp set carry forward to the new 2020/2021 Annual Catalog! I absolutely love this sentiment! The DSP that goes with this suite of products is one of my favorites too and will be retiring as well as the vellum, which is why I decided to use it today too.
When I was trying to decide on what to create today, I turned to everyone’s favorite, Pinterest, to find a card sketch, just like we use on the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group. It really helps when you’re having a creative hiccup! lol I started by gluing my DSP to the card front. I embossed my Balmy Blue layer and then added the Petal Pink vellum piece behind it, then glued both to the DSP. I stamped the large flower in Balmy Blue ink, stamping off first and then stamped the sentiment in Blueberry Bushel ink, another retiring item. I think this is one of my favorite blues and will really miss it! Next I punched out my sentiment and then glued it to the Starburst of Blueberry Bushel cardstock. I punched out two of the leaves in the Old Olive colored vellum and added them to the back of the starburst with some Mini Glue Dots. The Perennial Essence Vellum comes in three colors; Petal Pink, Old Olive and So Saffron, and each of them are beautiful! I then added some dimensionals to the starburst and added it to the card front. I sprinkled on some pearls and called it done!
Normally I just stamp on the inside back panel of the card when I am using Thick Whisper White, but today I wanted to add the extra layer of regular Whisper White cardstock. I repeated the process from the front to inside for the sentiment by stamping the flower in Balmy Blue and the sentiment in Blueberry Bushel inks. I just love those two blues together!!
