Happy Wednesday!! I hope your week is going well. Were you able to catch my Facebook Live this morning? If not, you can watch the replay here. Today we are playing with the February Paper Pumpkin Kit, the Lovely Day kit that coordinates with the Happy Birthday to You Sale-a-bration stamp set. I also used the Sending You Thoughts Sale-a-bration stamp set which is extremely versatile.
Here are the measurements for card one:
- Card base in Rococo Rose cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Paper Pumpkin card base in Rich Razzleberry cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Whisper White cardstock for the inside cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Whisper White and Rococo Rose cardstock cut with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies
After all the layers were trimmed an die cut, I glued the Rich Razzleberry layer to the card base. I stamped the sentiment from the Sending You Thoughts stamp set in Rich Razzleberry ink on the die cut Whisper White layer. I then glued it to the Rococo Rose die cut layer, then both to the card front. Next I added the die cut flower from the kit on the lower right corner of the scalloped die cuts with dimensionals and then added three of the Pearl Basic Rhinestones. I love that flower die cut! It is so pretty!!
For the inside layer I stamped the flower image from the Paper Pumpkin kit Rococo Rose ink, stamping off first, on the lower right hand corner and the sentiment from the Sending you Thoughts stamp set in Rich Razzleberry ink. I just love how this card turned out!
Now for the second alternative card.
Here are the measurements:
- Card base in Thick Whisper White cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Basic Black cardstock cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″
- Paper Pumpkin card base cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″ and 1 1/2″ x 4″
I always like using as much of the kit contents as possible and was really happy with how this one turned out as well. This card base was actually in the two different patterns and was a fun fold with a thumb notch closure. I cut it in two pieces at the joint of the two patterns. Then I trimmed the striped layer to 3 3/4″ x 5″ and the second pattern to 1 1/2″ x 4″. I stamped the cake image from the SAB stamp set in Rococo Rose ink on the striped layer. Then I stamped the image again in Tuxedo Black ink on a scrap of Whisper White and cut out just the flowers. I colored the centers with the Light Rococo Rose Stampin’ Blends Marker and added the flowers with dimensionals over the stamped image. Next I glued all of the cardstock layers together and added a piece of the Black Glittered ribbon and tying a knot. Next I glued it all to the card base. I added one of the sentiment die cuts from the kit and some of those gorgeous sequins from the kit.
For the inside I stamped the Have a sentiment from the Paper Pumpkin kit and the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Happy Birthday to You stamp set, both in Tuxedo Black on the inside of the card.
So what do you think? By cutting up the card bases it really helps your kit go a lot farther! I see me creating a whole lot more of those flowers! I just love that image!
