Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday! I hope your week is going well. Were you able to catch my Facebook live this morning? If not, you can catch the replay here. Today we had 2 projects that are alternates for the April Paper Pumpkin kit. I created this card in the video and showed you my scrapbook layout.
The measurements for the card are:
- Card base in Shaded Spruce cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Kit card base cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ for the inside
When I first saw the kit my alternate project mind went instantly to a hydrangea. I saw others create them and the sample on the instruction sheet, so I put my spin on it.The tri-fold card base in the kit is perfect to cut down to use on a traditional card base! I started with a scrap of what I thought was Balmy Blue, but is actually Seaside Spray. The one in the video is Balmy Blue though. I stamped it in Highland Heather and then fussy cut it out. I then took a piece of the Silver Metallic Edged ribbon and colored it with my Dark Highland Heather Blends Marker. I then took one of the leaf die cuts and added it to the card base with some of the Mini Dimensionals and attached it to the card front. I added my piece of ribbon and used a little piece for my faux bow and glued the layer to the card base. Next I added my hydrangea and a few of the pearls from the kit. I wanted some in the hydrangea, but not the colored ones in the kit. This is where my Blends marker comes in so handy – I colored my own and added them to the flower! I stamped the sentiment on one of the labels from the kit in Shaded Spruce and added it to the card.
For the inside, I stamped the sentiment in Shaded Spruce and the butterflies in Highland Heather. The inside layer is another piece of the original kit card base – nothing goes to waste!!
And then my layout:
Here are the measurements:
- Pool Party base 12″ x 12″
- Night of Navy 11 1/4″ x 11 1/4″
- Whisper White 11″ x 11″
- It Starts With Art DSP 9″ x 11″
Last year 3 of my downline create a sampler for my studio when I first opened it. You might remember my post. Here’s a look at the sampler:
I wanted to create something with my team picture to coordinate with it and I thought the PP stamp was the perfect title for it! I started with the scrap of DSP and glued it to the Whisper White. I wanted to incorporate Pool Party and the Night of Navy, so I cut down my Whisper White layer and added it to the Night of Navy mat. I colored a piece of the Silver Metallic Edged ribbon with my Light Night of Navy Blends Marker and then glued both layers of cardstock to the Pool Party layer. For my title, I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy ink and punched it out with the retired 1 3/4″ circle punch. (I keep all my punches!! They are a mainstay!) I punched out a piece of Pool Party cardstock with the Label Me Lovely punch, added some of the Holiday Rhinestones and added it to the front with dimensionals. And then I sprinkled on some rhinestones because one can never have enough bling!! lol
Next I added one of the felt heart embellishments from the It Starts with Art Embellishment kit. I found a glitter button in my stash that is actually a Pool Party color, so I added that and then a bow in the Pacific Point twine that comes in the embellishment kit.
For the last embellishment, I tied a piece of that same twine to one of the paper clips from the kit with the heart charm. This charm is very similar to one of the charms on the team bracelet that the girls get when they promote.
I am going to put thin in one of the white 12 x 12 sampler frames and hang it underneath my team sampler. It’s going to look so good in the studio!!
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday and stay safe!!
