Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope your week is going well. Were you able to catch my live Facebook this morning creating two alternate Paper Pumpkin cards? If not, you can go here now to see it. I think the January Paper Pumpkin kit has been a fun one to play with too. It coordinates with the Heartfelt Punch Pack and the Golden Honey Specialty DSP and the new Honey Bee Bundle. Don’t you just love it when so many things coordinate together? Here are the measurements for my cards today:
Bee Mine:
- Card base in Basic Black cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ and another cut at 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″
- Gold Foil Sheet cut at 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″
- Golden Honey Specialty DSP cut at 3″ x 4″
- Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ for the inside
After you have all of the paper cut, punch out the scalloped heart from the middle of the Gold Foil layer. Now don’t worry, no one is going to see the hole in the foil. Best way to conserve your foil sheets! Once you’ve punched out the heart, glue the DSP to the Basic Black layer, then both to the Gold Foil layer. Once you’ve done that, wrap your twine around it twice and tie it in a bow to the left and glue it to the card base. Next we’re going to create the heart. This image actually has the words “with love” on it, but we’re changing it. Take some good old Scotch tape and tape over the words. Ink up the stamp in Tuxedo Black ink, remove the tape and stamp it on a piece of scrap Whisper White cardstock. Next stamp the BEE MINE sentiment where the with love sentiment was and punch out with the solid heart punch. Glue this to the Gold Foil scalloped heart and then add it to the card front with dimensionals. Then pop out one of those cute little bees and color the body with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker and then add him with a Mini Dimensional. To add some more gold to it, I added two of the gold Metallic Pearls to it.
For the inside, I stamped the bee in Tuxedo Black and created the flight trail with the marker and then stamped the sentiment, also in black.
With Love:
- Card base in Mint Macaron cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ for the inside
I love this card! After I created the card base, I glued on one of the treat holders with the opening in the front. Next I attached one of the Highland Heather hearts from the kit with dimensionals just as if it was spilling out of the bag. I punched out a Whisper White scalloped heart and glued it to one of the Rococo Rose hearts and glued it next to the Highland Heater heart, also with dimensionals. Next I stamped the heart and the sentiment in Rococo Rose ink and punched it out with the solid heart punch. I glued it to a Rococo Rose scalloped heart and added it to the card front with more dimensionals. (can you tell I love dimensionals?) I added a couple of the flower sequins from the kit and that finished the front.
For the inside, I just stamped some of the flowers in Mint Macaron ink and left the rest blank so that there’s space to write a personal note.
