Welcome to another Fabulous Friday! Phew! We made it through another week! Today’s project is another look at this week’s Product of the Week, the Tropical Chic Bundle and we are creating a fun fold gift card holder. Have you seen today’s video? If not, you can see it on my YouTube Channel. Here are the measurements for today’s project:

  • Card base in Blushing Bride cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Tropical Escape DSP layer cut at 6″ x 5 1/4″, scored at 4″
  • Tropical Escape DSP cut at 3″ x 4″ and 3″ x 3″
  • Granny Apple Green cardstock cut at 3″ x 3″
  • Whisper White inside layer cut at 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ and center layer cut at 3 3/4″ x 7″, scored at 5″

I actually saw this as a card on a video by Ronda Wade during her live Facebook this week and loved how different it is. While I was creating it as a card, I got the idea to turn it into a gift card holder. To create the card itself, you take the largest piece of DSP and fold it at the score line. The short side of the score line fits on the inside of the card layer. Holding it in place with it over the outside layer of the card, add the adhesive to the backside and close the card on it. Much easier then laying it down on the inside layer and it ensures that the card flap fits into the fold of the DSP.  To create the pocket for the inside, run adhesive on the sides of the short side of the fold, then close it together to create the pocket. Stamp the flower in Blushing Bride on the lower right hand corner and adhere to the center of the card over the seam of the DSP.

For the inside layer, stamp the palm fronds in Tranquil Tide ink, the sentiment in Blushing Bride ink and the small leaves in Granny Apple Green ink. When stamping the leaves, you’ll want to stamp off first so as not to overpower the pink sentiment. Layer this to the 3″ x 4″ DSP and then adhere to the inside layer of the card.

Next cut out the palm leaves square in the Granny Apple Green cardstock and layer onto the 3″ x 3″ piece of DSP with Mini Glue Dots. Add dimensionals to the back and add it to the upper front of the card. Next take some of the Granny Apple Green Textured Ribbon and tie it around the card and into a knot at the left hand side. Add 3 of the flowers that have stamped in Blushing Bride ink and die cut. Add rhinestones to the center of each flower. For the sentiment strip, stamp the sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set and punch out with the Classic Label punch. I then flagged the ends on the right hand side, added a little bit of snail adhesive and tucked it under the flowers. Isn’t that adorable?

Now if you’d like to order any of these items, just head over to my online store. Now through Monday, August 20th when you place an order using Hostess Code HKM43HVE and place a $50.00 order or more, you not only get a $5.00 coupon from Stampin’ Up! and a pack of handmade cards from me, but I will include a package of the Glitter Enamel Dots as well. We can always use more glitter and bling in our lives!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a Fabulous Friday!
