Welcome to another Fabulous Friday! Today’s project features the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set, one of the new Sale-a-bration stamp sets that you can get for free with a $50.00 order. - Card base in Basic Gray, cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Melon Mambo layer cut at 5 1/4″ x 4″
- Shimmery White layer cut at 5″ x 3 3/4″
I chose the Shimmery White cardstock because of the glittery effect it has and thought it was perfect for what I had planned. I’ve seen several other demos showcase this technique on the card and knew I had to give it a try too. First I stamped the image using Basic Black and let it sit for a minute. Then I got out my Aqua Painter and started adding color. Shimmery White cardstock works very well with watercoloring because it’s so thick, but you still want to be careful not to completely saturate the cardstock and cause it to warp. I painted the flowers in Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry, then the leaves with Lemon Lime Twist. I wanted to use the bright colors to help brighten the image after being stamped in black. I love that it makes the image look realistic when you add the color to it. I then stamped the sentiment in Basic Black to the lower right hand corner. Once it was dry I adhered it to the Melon Mambo layer, which also makes the flowers pop. Then I added some of the new shimmer ribbon that is also a free item from the Sale-a-bration Catalog. All the shimmer just goes so well together! When I finished adding the ribbon, I adhered both layers to the card base and then added some of the Glitter Enamel Dots. I absolutely love this card!!
