Welcome to another Fabulous Friday! Today we are going to not only color cardstock with the Blends Markers, but ribbon as well. Did you have a chance to see the video yet? If not, you can see it here. Here are the measurements for today’s card:

  • Card base in Pool Party cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Rich Razzleberry cardstock cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 3 3/8″ x 4 5/8″
  • Petal Garden DSP cut at 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″
  • Thick Whisper White cardstock cut at 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″

And yes, I’m using Thick Whisper White to color on. I know that it’s mostly for card bases, but you know those times when something goes wrong and you can’t use it for your card? Well, save those pieces! You can cut them down to use when coloring with the Blends. The thick cardstock works perfectly with the Blends! So I stamped my image from the Graceful Garden stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored the leaves and stem using the Old Olive markers. Then I colored the rose with the Rich Razzleberry markers. The piece of Designer Series Paper that I’m using has the roses in the same color, but in a very variegated form. So when I finished coloring the rose, I took my Color Lifter and colored over the colored rose. At first you aren’t going to see any difference to it, but when it dries you will see it. And the cool part is it will be different every time you do this.

To color the ribbon I just took the Dark Pool Party Blends marker and using the larger brush end, I just colored in long even strokes. The ribbon takes the alcohol ink like a sponge! And it’s so easy to do! I set that aside to dry, although with alcohol, it doesn’t take long. I adhered the DSP to the Rich Razzleberry piece, then both to the card base. Then I stamped the sentiment in, you guessed it, Rich Razzleberry ink, and then adhered it to the smaller Rich Razzleberry layer. Then I took the ribbon, and using household tape, I taped one end to the back side of this layer, trimmed it to fit and adhered the other end in the same way. Then I used the small piece that was left over and ran it under the ribbon on the layer and tied it in a knot. Then I adhered it all to the card front with dimensionals. This is where those outside pieces of dimensionals that are left when you used the little octagons up come in handy. I sprinkled on some rhinestones and called it good.
