Welcome to another Fabulous Friday! Today’s project features not only another fun fold, but it also showcases the new Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Series Paper that is part of the second release of products for Sale-a-bration. This fun fold pattern was something I had seen by fellow demonstrator Sue Erickson. I fell in love with this pattern and knew I wanted to case it. And what better way to show it off then with the new paper! Here are the measurements for the card:
- Card base in Whisper White cardstock cut at 4 1/4″ x 9 3/4″, scored at 5 1/2″
- Swing arm in Whisper White cardstock cut at 1 1/4″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 5 1/2″
- Gold Foil cut at 4″ x 4″ for the front panel and 4″ x 5 1/4″ for the inside, and 1″ x 2 3/4″ for the arm front
- DSP cut at 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ for the front panel and 3 3/4″ x 5″ for the inside, and 3/4″ x 2 1/2″ for the arm front
- Gold Foil cut with the Layering Squares Framelits, cut this from the 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel to save your foil stash
- Whisper White cardstock cut with the next size down square in the Layering Squares Framelits
This new DSP is absolutely GORGEOUS!! It is thick cardstock that is foil embossed in Rose Gold, Gold and Silver foils. Stunning and perfect for any special occasion! I used regular Whisper White for this project due to the weight of the foil and DSP because I knew it would be a heavy card. First I cut out a flower from the DSP and set it aside.Then I burnished all the score marks on the cardstock with my bone folder. This should help the card lay a little flatter. Next, take the arm strip and wipe the inside of the short end down with the Embossing Buddy. Stamp the Happy Anniversary sentiment in Versa Mark ink, sprinkle on some gold embossing powder and heat it with the heat tool. I also stamped and embossed the inside piece of Whisper White at the same time. Here’s a look at the swing arm:
Once you’re done with the embossing, add adhesive to the back side of the long strip and adhere it down to the inside of the card. Then adhere the foil and DSP together and add on top of the arm. Next, adhere the Whisper White embossed piece to the foil, and adhere them both to the inside. Be sure to adhere it to the left so it is hidden when the card is closed. Here’s a look at mine:
For the front side of the arm, adhere the small strips of foil and DSP together, then adhere to the flap. Take the flower that you cut out earlier and add a couple of dimensionals and adhere it to the flap. Adhere the two front pieces of foil and DSP together, add them to the card front, sprinkle on some pearls and you’re done! Isn’t that easy? When you first look at the card you probably think it’s going to be a difficult one to make. And that’s the best part of fun folds!! 🙂 They look amazing and are so easy to make!
