Welcome to another Fabulous Friday! This week’s project is just the cutest little Easter basket using the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder. I LOVE this folder! And I think it just makes this basket even cuter. Did you see today’s video? If not, you can see it on my Youtube channel, and while you’re there, please subscribe, like and share and tag a friend on the video. Here are the measurements of the cardstock for the basket:

  • Basket in Powder Pink cardstock cut at 6″ x 6″, embossed then scored at 2″ on all sides
  • Handle for basket in Powder Pink cardstock cut at 3/4″ x 11″, embossed

When you cut the cardstock for this, make your first cut 3/4″ x 11″, then cut the 6″ x 6″ so that you only use on sheet of cardstock. Next emboss both pieces of cardstock. The handle is embossed using the Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Center your strip of cardstock over one of the braids and run it through the Big Shot, then turn it around to run the other side. For the basket, since the folder is only 4″ wide you’ll need to run the cardstock twice. The second pass you will have to rotate the folder to go in sideways. Once it’s embossed, score it at two inches on all sides. Then you want to snip two of the sides (opposite sides) up to the score lines. Here’s a look at what it should look like when you’ve snipped the two sides:

Once you’ve snipped it, you’ll want to add your adhesive. I used Tear & Tape as it’s the best when it comes to making 3D items. Here’s a look at where I placed my adhesive strips:

Now that you have the adhesive on, you want to bring those two sides over the middle piece halfway and adhere down like this:

Don’t worry about the gap, the ovals will cover that up. Next you want to add adhesive to the handle and adhere it on the inside of the basket. Here’s a side view look at the completed basket:

Now to create the two ovals, I used some scraps of Thick Whisper White to cut out the scallop ovals from the Layering Ovals Framelits. Then I used one of the ovals from the Stitched Shapes Framelits and cut out 2 in the Powder Pink. I adhered them together and added to the basket with a couple of dimensionals. Once that was done I created those cute little bunny faces.

Isn’t that the sweetest face? To create him, first punch out circles with the 1″ Circle Punch. Then punch out one daisy with the Daisy Punch. The face is from the Foxy Friends stamp set and is stamped in Smokey Slate. Trim two of the petals off to create the ears and adhere with a Mini Glue Dot. Color the inside of the ears with the Powder Pink Stampin’ Write Marker and then add him to the oval with a couple of dimensionals. Add a couple of the Glitter Enamel Dots and you have your basket all ready to fill with chocolate.

If you would like to order any of these items, please go to my online store to place your order.
