Welcome to another Fabulous Friday! Today’s project is not only an alternate card using the June Paper Pumpkin kit, but also a fun fold card. And since we are using Lovely Lipstick cardstock, it’s the perfect conclusion for my Product of the Week, the 2018-2020 In Colors. Did you see today’s video? If not, you can see it on my Youtube Channel. When you’re there, be sure to subscribe to my channel. Here are the measurements for this card:
- Card base in Lovely Lipstick 8 1/2″ x 11″ scored at 4 1/4″ and 5 1/2″, then cut diagonally to create 2 card bases
- Black and White striped card base from kit cut at 4″ x 5 1/4″, cut diagonally from the back side
- Basic Black cardstock cut at 5 1/4″ x 4″
- Whisper White cardstock cut at 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″
- Gold Foil Sheet cut at 4″ x 2 3/4″
- Lovely Lipstick sticker from kit cut at 3 3/4″ x 2 1/2″
To create this fun fold card, which I believe is called an angle card, you need a full 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of cardstock. Score the card at 4 1/4″, rotate, then score again at 5 1/2″. Once it’s scored, you want to cut the cardstock from corner to corner.
Once it’s cut, you have two card bases ready to go. Next I took one of the striped card bases and trimmed them to 4″ x 5 1/4″, again, you get two out of one card base. Now this is important, turn the card base upside down to cut it in half on the diagonal. By doing this, the pattern fits perfectly on the Lovely Lipstick card base. Adhere the corners on the card base. To create the sentiment label, I cut a piece of Gold Foil Sheet down, and added a trimmed Lovely Lipstick stick to it. I then wrapped that gorgeous black and gold twine around the label twice and taped it to the back. I then stamp the sentiment on one of the marquee labels and added it to the gold layer with some of the mini dimensionals that are in the kit. Add some dimensionals to the left side only and add it to the card front. Then I added two of the adhesive backed gold sequins. For the inside I adhered the black and white layers and then added one of the Hooray stickers at an angle at the top. Then I stamped the sentiment and added the layers to the inside of the card. I took one of the Lovely Lipstick balloons that was included in the kit, added a dimensional and added it to the inside of the card. Here’s what it looks like when it’s done:
Isn’t that adorable? I had one of those “OMG this is so stinking cute!!” moments when I finished it. I really love how it turned out!!! What do you think? Are you a Paper Pumpkin subscriber? If not, you can go here and subscribe today. Each month you’ll get a kit in the mail that includes everything you need to complete the projects, including adhesive. It’s some of the best happy mail you’ll get!!
