Welcome to another Fabulous Friday! Today’s project is an alternate project using the April Paper Pumpkin kit; which is perfect timing to let you know that you have until May 10th to subscribe for May’s kit and get it and the June kit for 50% off! That’s right, you’ll get 2 full months for the price of 1!! Now that’s the way to get started! Especially when you see how cute this kit is with the adorable nautical theme. Have you seen today’s video? If not, you can see it on my Youtube Channel. While you’re there, be sure to subscribe to my channel if you haven’t already. Here are the measurements for today’s card:
- Card base in Island Indigo cut at 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ (retiring color)
- Pool Party cardstock cut at 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″
- 3 x 3 card in kit cut at 3″ x 3″
- 3 x 3 card in kit cut at 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″
- Gold Foil Sheet cut at 3/4″ x 2 1/4″
- Inside layer in Whisper White cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″
April’s Paper Pumpkin kit comes with 20 card bases for 3″ x 3″ cards plus coordinating envelopes and all materials to complete the cards, plus 4 printed gift boxes that can hold the cards/or gift cards. It really is a cute kit. We are actually using two of the 3″ x 3″ card bases to create today’s card.
My card base for this project is in one of my very favorite colors in the Stampin’ Up! family, and sadly it is retiring at the end of May. So if you like this color as much as I do, you need to stock up on the accessories such as cardstock and reinkers before they sell out. Once the card base was created, I cut down the other layers. The layer that has the gold light beams is cut at 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″, but you can’t just trim it or the print will be off centered. I trimmed 1/8″ off all 4 sides so that the image stayed center. You can adhere all three of the squares together, then stamp the birds with the Island Indigo ink spot. Be careful to only stamp on the white part because the ink will smear off of the gold foiling on the card. Attach a couple of the mini dimensionals that come in the kit to the back of one of the lighthouses, then add it to the square layers. Add a rhinestone to the top of the lighthouse and then add some dimensionals to the back and set it aside.
Next take a piece of the rope-looking twine and tie it around the card base in a knot or a bow to the very left side. This will allow you to add the squares in the center of the card base, which you can do now. Next, stamp the sentiment on one of the flags from the kit and attach to the gold foil piece. Add dimensionals, then add it to the bottom of the card. Take the Whisper White cardstock and stamp the sentiment at the top center and then add the lighthouse. I stamped off once so that the lighthouse was just very light in color. Then stamp the birds and add to the inside of the card.
You’ll have plenty of room to write whatever you want on the inside of this card. I love the monochromatic tones to this card. Now are you ready to subscribe to get the next 2 months for 50% off?
