Ok, back to the card. I used Cherry Cobbler for the card base. I cut a 2 1/4″ piece of Garden Green and a 2″ piece of the new Be Merry Designer Series Paper and layered them onto the left side of the card base. Then I added one of the Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers to the the edge to bring in the gold. I liked the way it gave it a scalloped edge to the Garden Green. Then I cut a piece of Whisper White at 2 1/8 x 3 1/8″ for the sentiment. The sentiment is actually heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I stamped the sentiment in Versa Mark ink then right into Cherry Cobbler ink so it would stay wet longer and added the embossing powder, hit it with the heat gun and voila! By using this technique you can heat emboss any of our colors!! Once it cooled I added it to a 2 1/4 x 3 1/4″ of Garden Green, added some dimensionals and added it to the lower portion of the card. To bring in more gold, I added a bow using the Gold 1/8″ Ribbon. I love Cherry Cobbler and gold together. Here’s a look at the inside where I used gold embossing powder for the ornaments in the stamp set and then stamped the sentiment from the Christmas Pines stamp set in Cherry Cobbler.
Isn’t the gold embossing gorgeous? Heat embossing is definitely one of my favorite techniques, especially for any holiday cards. The more bling the better, right?!? 😉
