Hey everyone! Happy Thursday! I hope you are having a good last week of 2021. It’s hard to believe that 2022 is just hours away! So, have you seen the December Paper Pumpkin yet? Today’s Facebook Live was playing that super cute kit. If you missed the live, you can catch the replay over on my YouTube Channel here. This kit was the perfect fun-filled kit to get anyone out of the doldrums of the cold winter weather we have been having! Here’s a look at the layout I created using the kit”

Here are the measurements:

  • Base is a sheet of the In Good Taste DSP
  • Pool Party 12″ x 12″ cardstock cut to 10″ x 10″
  • Very Vanilla 12″ x 12″ cardstock cut to 9 3/4″ x 9 3/4″
  • Photo mat is a card base from the kit cut at 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ (photo cut at 3 3/4″ x 5″)

When I saw the toast stamp, I knew the perfect picture to scrap! This is a picture of Charlie when he was about 2 sitting in the chair my grandfather built for me with I was a toddler and eating a piece of cinnamon toast and watching cartoons. At that age he would probably be watching the movie Cars for the umpteenth time. I took one of the card bases from the kit and cut it in half to use as a photo mat. All the layers are attached with Stampin’ Seal. The envelopes in the kit all have adorable printed insides, so I used a retired 2 1/2″ circle punch for the circle behind the photo. I then layered the negative of the circle star from one of the card layers in the kit and attached it over the photo. I stamped the face in Early Espresso on the die cut piece of toast and added it with a couple of dimensionals.

I thought the little stamped speech bubble was perfect to use over Chloe as she’s begging for her bite of toast! After it was all glued down I realized I should have stamped the toast to create my own DSP, sooooo, I stamped it anyway. Some of the faces are little off, but hey, it’s handmade and personal! lol The tag is die cut from the other half of the card base using one of the Tailor Made Tag set. It’s added with dimensionals and the bow is from some of the Linen Thread included in the kit. I also added some of the little enamel embellishments. I love how it turned out!! Now for the gift card holder!

Here are the measurements:

  • Card base from kit cut at 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″
  • Basic White cardstock cut at 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 3″ and 6″
  • Other half of card base cut at 4″ x 2 3/4″, 1 3/4″ x 4″ and 1″ x 4″
  • Daffodil Delight cardstock scrap measures 3/4″ x 3 1/8″

You can see I used the same card base, but I really liked how it looks like it’s layered, which was perfect for this project. I started with the card holder layer. I folded the score lines and punched the thumb hole on the short side using a circle punch. I stamped the dot image from the stamp set on the largest layer of the cardstock to create my own DSP and then attached it to the top of the gift card holder. I wrapped a piece of the Bumble Bee Gingham Ribbon around the card holder top and tied it in a knot all the way to the left. I stamped the larger speech bubble with the sentiment and added it to my Daffodil Delight strip and then both to the front with dimensionals. I took one of the banana die cuts and stamped that oh so cute face and glasses and added him with a dimensional. I then added some of the adorable enamel dots.

I then stamped the 1 3/4″ x 4″ piece with the banana image to create another piece of DSP and attached it at the top of the inside of the card holder so that it shows behind the thumb hole. I then stamped the last strip with the dots. To create the slot for the gift card, I added Stampin Seal to the sides and folded it up to secure it. Be sure to add your adhesive right at the edge so that you have room for your gift card to slip in. I then added the 1” strip at the bottom. I stamped the little hat image from the set and added one of the heart embellishments to finish it off.

And the best part of this alternate is there is no waste! Plus you already have a beautiful envelope from the kit to use!! What do you think?
