Are you ready for some more projects using the December Paper Pumpkin kit? After using some of the elements in my take on this week’s CASE-ing Tuesday project, I wanted to make even more projects. If you missed yesterday’s post, you can see it here. And since I was going to make more with this kit, I thought it was time to getting back to doing a Facebook Live. Part of the reason I have been gone for so long, is not only the holidays that can be so crazy, but I fell and fractured my shoulder. Fortunately it wasn’t severe enough to do anything but some light physical therapy. Then we lost our sweet Chloe at the beginning of December. She was 12 1/2 and has been by my side since she was 8 weeks old. To say the loss devasted us was an understatement. I am currently working on an album of her and since she absolutely loved to smell the flowers while on our walks, I had to use the flower die cut from the kit. Then at the beginning of the month we got a new puppy. She’s 3/4 Australian Shepherd and 1/4 Poodle. We’ve had Aussies before, but you tend to forget what it’s like to have a herding dog/puppy in the family! lol But she is a cutie and oh so lovable!
Let’s look at my scrapbook layout first.
Here are the measurements:
- White Willow cardstock – 12″ x 12″
- Mossy Meadow cardstock – 6″ x 8 1/2″
- Timeless Plaid DSP – 2 1/2″ x 6″, 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ and 3/4″ x 6″
All of my layers here are scraps, which is always a good thing! I know the picture is dark, but I had to use it. All of the layers are added with Stampin’ Seal. I took one of the vellum leaf die cuts and cut it in half. I attached the larger one behind the flowers with Seal, and then added it to the layout with dimensionals. I then just tucked the other piece up at the top behind her matted photo. I stamped one of the labels with a sentiment from the kit in Mossy Meadow and wrote my journaling is done with my Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write Marker. Both labels are added with dimensionals and then I liberally sprinkled on some of the glitter gems from the kit. Now let’s look at my first alternate card:
Here are the measurements:
- Scalloped card base from kit – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″
- Blackberry Bliss cardstock – 3 3/4″ x 5″
All of the card bases in the kit are white scalloped, which are absolutely gorgeous! Since I didn’t want to cut one up, I decided to make it a z-fold. After folding the card front back at the 2 1/8″ score line, I just added my piece of Blackberry Bliss. I added the blackberry die cut with dimensionals and my stamped label from the kit over it and sprinkled on some of the rose gold glitter dots. In my video I did add a piece of one of the vellum leaves. I defintely like that one better. Blackberry Bliss is the color of the ink spot in the kit.
For the inside, I stamped another of the sentiments. Don’t you just love that font?!? I’ll used one of the envelopes in the kit for this card.
Now let’s look at my second card. I cased my CASE-ing Tuesday card, just using another piece of that pretty plaid. You can get all of the measurements from yesterday’s post here. I followed the measurements from the sketch, except my “banner” layer is a full 4 1/4″ long. The banner just didn’t go with my take. Here’s a look at both cards.
