Hey everyone! Welcome to the 2nd sneak peek for Saturday’s Count Down to Christmas Card Class. It wouldn’t be a Christmas card class without a Santa, and Father Christmas is the perfect candidate.
I wanted to create something vintage for this set, and I think I accomplished it with this card. I used an 8 1/2 x 5 1/2″ piece of Always Artichoke for the card base. Then I cut a piece of Sahara Sand to 5 1/4 x 4″ and stamped the top and the bottom with the edge stamps. Then I distressed the edges using the retired Stampin’ Distress Tool. (I never get rid of anything, which is why my scraproom is bursting at the seams! lol) After using the tool, I took a Stampin’ Sponge and sponged the edges with Sahara Sand. I tied a piece of the Very Vanilla Lace ribbon at the bottom. I cut a piece of Cherry Cobbler with a scalloped oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits. I stamped Father Santa on a piece of Very Vanilla with Chocolate Chip ink. Then I colored him with a Blender Pen and some Cherry Cobbler Ink and the tree with some Always Artichoke. I really enjoy using the Blender Pens, it really makes coloring images so easy. Then I cut it out using the new Stitched From the Heart Framelits and adhered it to the scalloped oval and attached them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add some Pearl Basic Jewels and voila! Instant vintage Christmas card!
