Hey everyone! Happy Thursday! Ready for another look at this week’s Product of the Week? I bet you’re wondering when I’m going to use those framelits, huh? Well….I don’t have them! First time I have ever purchased a bundle without the framelits!! And I didn’t realize it until yesterday…so guess what’s on my next order? Yep, those framelits!! lol So here are the measurements for today’s card:

  • Card base in Crumb Cake cardstock cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Night of Navy cardstock cut at 3 1/2″ x  4 1/2″
  • Shimmery White cardstock cut at 3 1/4″  x 4 1/4″
  • Whisper White cardstock cut at 3″ x 4″ for the inside

I had this picture in my head of a sunrise with that beautiful tree from the Winter Woods set, so I grabbed my Watercolor Pencils and started coloring. I like to use the Shimmery White cardstock, not only for the shimmer, but it makes it really easy to watercolor as it is a thicker cardstock. The thing about watercoloring is, not only will no two scenes will ever look the same, but when your scene doesn’t look right, you can continue to add on layers. I started with the ground, then created the sun, then the sky by using two different blues.

Then I blended them with the Aqua Painter. Once I was satisfied with my scene, I let it dry. I know it looks a little rough, but you stamp the image on it, it softens it all up.

I stamped the tree in Shaded Spruce and let that sit for awhile longer. Next I grabbed a white gel pen and colored in the snow on the tree. When you use a white gel pen, remember to use light pressure as it helps the ink flow more evenly. Once I was done with the snow on the tree, I added some on the ground and then dotted the sky to make it look like it was snowing. I stamped the sentiment from the Star of Light stamp set in Night of Navy ink, then adhered the layer to a layer of Night of Navy. Next I added it to the card base and then added some of the Gold Metallic Pearls. For the inside, I just stamped the sentiment from the Winter Woods stamp set. I really like how the whole card turned out. What do you think?
