Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday! Are you ready for sneak peek #2? So I wanted to create a non-traditional card for the the second project, so I pulled out a sheet of Tranquil Tide card stock to start off. Then I thought that a piece of the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper would go nicely with it. Then Lovely As a Tree popped in my head. It is the oldest stamp set in the catalog and one of my first to purchase way back before I became a demonstrator. This set is always a go to for masculine cards, sympathy cards and of course, let’s not forget Christmas cards with that lone pine tree. Looking at the two pieces of paper on my desk, I pulled out a scrap piece of Very Vanilla and stamped the row of trees in Early Espresso. Then I cut it out with one of the stitched ovals. I then cut out a piece of Early Espresso using one of the scalloped ovals from the Layering Ovals collection and adhered them together. I thought it might need a little softening, so I added just a piece of a doily to the back. I then took a piece of Very Vanilla Baker’s Twine and tied it to one end of a 1 1/2 x 5 1/2″ piece of the Wood Textures DSP and adhered it to the Tranquil Tide card base. I took my fine tip glue pen and dabbed it on the trees and on the landscaping lines and dusted it with some Dazzling Diamonds glitter for an icy affect and set it aside to dry. I stamped the sentiment from the Holly Berry Happiness set on a 3/4 x 3″ strip of Very Vanilla and punched the end with the Triple Banner Punch and then adhered it to the bottom left of the card. Then I added some dimensionals to the back of the trees panel and adhered it to the card. I then sprinkled on some pearls and called it finished. Here’s an up close look at the trees so you can see the sparkle.
I love how it sparkles! You have to be careful when you apply the glue because the ink will smear if you put too much on. Doesn’t look beautiful?
