Hey everyone! Welcome to sneak peek #1 for our Christmas in July event!! It’s going to be over 100 to 110 for the next week, so staying inside creating our Christmas cards is one way to keep cool. The bonus to that is getting our stash of Christmas cards built up so that we’re not rushed during the holidays. We’ll be ready to send them out by Thanksgiving or the first week of December.
This card is just a nice, simple card. And let’s face it, when we’re mass producing cards, simple is best. To create this, I started with a card base of Thick Whisper White cut at 8 1/2 by 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4. I love using that for the base when I’m looking to create a white base. It has a better weight than our regular Whisper White card stock. The next layer is a 4 x 5 1/4″ piece of Whisper White that I ran through the Big Shot using the new Pinewood Planks embossing folder. I see using that folder a LOT! It gives such a nice wood look to your card stock. Then I took a 2 1/2 x 4″ piece of the Be Merry Designer Series Paper and adhered it to the bottom portion of the panel. I took a piece of the new Cherry Cobbler 1/4″ Double-Stitched Ribbon and added it to the top of the dsp and tied it in a knot. Then I stamped the sentiment from the Christmas Pines stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink on some scrap Whisper White and punched it out with the Lovely Label Punch. I used the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch and punched out a circle of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and used one of the Layering Circle Framelits to cut a piece of Cherry Cobbler and then adhered all of these together. Tip: when adhering anything to the top of a piece of Glimmer Paper, use Mini Glue Dots, that seems to be the best adhesive that really sticks to the glitter. I then added some dimensionals and added it to the front of the card. See? Simple and cute, who doesn’t like that?
