Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday!! I’m finally back in my craft room after a short break for Christmas. Wow, was it a mess!! Seems like in the mad rush to get ready for Christmas, everything ended up on my desk! lol But that’s ok, it was a very fun weekend with all my girls and their significant others and of course, Charlie.
After I was able to see my desk, I took out some of the new product from the Occasions Catalog and the Sale-a-bration Catalog to play around and this is what I came up with. Now, the Black Rhinestones are not in the catalog and will be retiring in just 5 short days, so if you use them like me, now is the chance to get them before they are gone! So here are the measurements of my card:
- Card base in Lemon Lime Twist, cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
- Berry Burst Layer cut at 5 1/4″ x 4″
- Basic Black Layer cut at 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″
- Picture Perfect DSP cut at 5″ x 3 3/4″
I have used 2 of the new Sale-a-bration items, the Amazing You stamp set and the Celebrate You Thinlits. This is the first time that Stampin’ Up! has had a thinlit set in the SAB catalog. Now, if you’re not familiar with Sale-a-bration, it is a sale that runs from January through March that has it’s own catalog. For every $50.00 worth of product that you purchase either from the Annual Catalog or the new Occasions Catalog, you get to choose an item out of the Sale-a-bration Catalog for free. This year Stampin’ Up! has also done something new, they have added two different levels of free product. There are items that are a $50.00 level; which is Level 1, and a couple of items are a $100.00 level; Level 2. The thinlits I used today are from the Level 2 section. I think it’s nice that they are changing things up a bit. So on to the card.
After I cut and scored the card base, I cut the layers and the DSP. This DSP is something new too. It’s 2-sided, with one side being actual pictures of something, and then the other side is just printed in a coordinating pattern. Very cute! It’s also one of the 6″ x 6″ stacks too. So to trim the DSP to fit with the party hats in the the center, I cut it at 3 3/4″ first. Then I trimmed 1/2″ from the top and the bottom. I like how it turned out. I then stamped the sentiment from the Amazing You stamp set in Basic Black and adhered all the paper together. I then took a piece of Black Baker’s Twine, wrapped it around the center and tied a bow on the left. Then adhered it all down on the card base.
Then I cut out the YOU with the Celebrate You Thinlits with some of the new Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper. Ok, so you know I will be ordering A LOT of that, so pretty!!! It is also a 6″ x 6″ pack similar to what was in last year’s SAB pack. It comes in light green, turquoise, and iridescent. I know you’re thinking that it’s looks like the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, but I compared the two. Here’s a look at the two side by side.
The one on the left is the new Iridescent and the one on the right is the Dazzling Diamonds. See how much more pink is in the Iridescent? It will really pick up the pink when you use it on the Berry Burst card stock. I love that SU! has given us so many options for bling!! đ
I then added a couple of the mini dimensionals to the back of the YOU and adhered it right over the twine. Of course I had to add some of my Black Rhinestones too. I am sooooo sad they are retiring!!!!! SU! really should have checked with me first on that decision!! lol
So, are you getting excited for the new catalog yet? Well it’s just a few short days til you can order, but that means you still have time to get your last minute items from the Holiday Catalog…like the Black Rhinestones!! You can head over here to place your order. Remember that the Year End Sale is still going on, the Stamparatus is still available to reserve, and the Clearance Rack was updated, so you have TONS of items to shop from! When you use Hostess Code W6U4CHF7 and place a $35.00 order or more, I’ll send you a pack of hand made cards all ready to mail to someone special. If your order is $50.00 or more, I will send you your choice of either the Brightly Lit Christmas stamp set or the Every Good Wish stamp set. Both of these stamp sets are brand new and never used, but I only have one of each to give away, so don’t wait to order if you’re looking to check either of these off your wish list.
Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you have a great Wednesday!
