Hello and welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday case. If you missed last week’s post, I am now one of the bloggers for the Facebook Group called CASE-ing Tuesdays. Each week one of the administrators picks a project in one of our current Stampin’ Up! catalogs to case, or Copy And Share Everything. You can copy the project exactly as it is shown in the catalog, or you can put your spin on it using completely different papers or stamp set; it’s all up to you. Here’s this week’s project to case:

It’s using the stamp set Christmas Happiness. Such a fun 2-step stamp set! Aren’t the little Christmas lights adorable? And those pine cones are just too stinking cute! So here’s the dimensions on my card:

  • Card base in Tranquil Tide cut at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Soft Sky cardstock cut with the second to largest scalloped oval
  • Whisper White cut in the coordinating oval and sentiment strip cut at 1/2″ x 4″

I first stamped the wreath pieces in Tranquil Tide randomly over the card base. I used one of our Aqua Painters and washed a bit of Soft Sky over the oval. Once it dried, I stamped the branch in Tranquil Tide. Then I added the outline of the lights in Old Olive, the base of the light is in Pear Pizzazz and the light in So Saffron. Before I finished the look with the pine cone, I adhered the oval to the scalloped oval, a doily to the back and some dimensionals to that, then adhered it to the card front. Then I moved on to the pine cone. First I stamped the outline of the small pine cone in Soft Suede. The inside of the pine cone is stamped in Crumb Cake, but I stamped off first because I didn’t want it too dark. I then cut it out, added some Multipurpose Glue and sprinkled on some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. I think the glitter gives it a frosty look to it. I added a couple of dimensionals and added it to the card. The Merry Christmas sentiment is actually from two different sentiments in the set. By masking the other portion of the sentiment, I stamped both words in Old Olive and flagged the ends. Again, I added some dimensionals and added it to the card. I thought it still needed something, so I sprinkled on some pearls, tied a double bow with Whisper White Baker’s Twine and added it to the top of the ovals with a mini glue dot and deemed it done. Here’s a look at the pine cone up close so you can see all the sparkle:

Now it’s your turn. Create something that gives you spin on the card and post it to the Facebook post for today’s case. If you aren’t a member of the group, request to join, we always love to add people to the group. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!
