Welcome to the first CASE-ing Tuesday of February! I hope your month and week are off to a good start. If this is your first time visiting my little neck of the woods, I am so glad you’re here! Please be sure to join my email list to keep up on all the scrappy news around here. Have you been by the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group this morning to see what we are casing (copy and share everything)? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:

Isn’t that a cute card with that little hedgehog? I thought now was a good time to play with those adorable toadstools for my card. As you can see, I changed my card up quite a bit.

I chose to create a regular sized A2 card rather than a square card, so I used the square measurements for layers. I started with a Melon Mambo card base that measures 81/2″ x 5 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″. I chose Granny Apple Green for my square layers. The 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ layer looked too plain for me, so I embossed it with the Cute Crochet 3D Embossing Folder and added it to the card base with Stampin’ Seal Adhesive. I then trimmed my next Granny Apple Green layer to the measurements in the sketch and die cut the circle with the largest circle die from the Stylish Shapes die set. Once I did that, I trimmed a piece of the cute Toadstool Gardens DSP to 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ to attach to the back of the die cut square. I then attached this layer over the embossed layer with dimensionals. I really wanted to make a shaker card with this, but couldn’t find the perfect “shakers” for it, so I moved on. Next, I punched the stem of the mushroom from a scrap of Gray Granite cardstock. I chose my mushroom top and stamped it in Melon Mambo ink, stamping it off first to give it a lighter color, and punched it out. I attached the stem with a dot of liquid glue and then attached it to the card front with dimensionals. The little strips on the edge of your dimensional sheet are perfect for the stem. I then cut a 1/2″ strip of Basic White to stamp my sentiment. I thought the word magical needed to stand out, so I colored it with my Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Marker and the rest of the sentiment with my Gray Granite Stampin’ Write Marker. Using theses markers are perfect for coloring stamps with multiple colors. I then flagged the ends of the strip and added it with more of the edge dimensionals from the sheet. For my bling, I sprinkled on some of the Adhesive-Backed Trio Sequins.

For the inside, I stamped the mushrooms in Gray Granite and Melon Mambo ink on a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White cardstock. Since the senitment was so small, I stamped it next to the mushrooms on the bottom in Gray Granite ink and then attached it inside the card with Seal.

I repeated the mushrooms and sentiment on the envelop flap.

Isn’t that a fun card? Now it’s your turn. Create your take on this week’s card or sketch and share it with us over on the Facebook Group.
