Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! I hope your week is going well. Case-ing Tuesday Portrait Templates – 144
I love that suite of product, but I decided to change mine up a little bit. This was actually created last week – then when I went to post on the FB Group, I realized I had cased the wrong week! oops! But that’s okay, it gave me a chance to recreate the lantern as i really didn’t like the origiinal on. And speaking of lantersn, I love the look of lanterns, and if you have ever been to my home, I have a lot of lanterns as part of my home decor. So this stamp and die set was a must for me! And the fact that it’s a Distinktive Stamp Set was just a bonus!!! Just look at the detail on both the bow and the lantern!!
I chose the Winter Meadow DSP that was carried over from last year’s Sept-Dec Mini Catalog. I decided to trim my layer to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and add it to an Early Espresso card base. I die cut a label from the Countryside Corners die set and stamped my sentiment in Early Espresso ink. I then attached the label with dimensionals. There are two sizes of lanterns in the set and I chose the smaller one for today’s card. I stamped it in Early Espresso ink for a bronze look. To keep it somewhat subtle, I stamped the candle in Gray Granite ink, stamping off, and note, that since the candle is a little tall for the smaller lantern, I only inked a portion of it so that it fit. I then colored the panels with the Light Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends Markers and the flame with the Light Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blends and cut it out with the coordinating die. Next I die cut two of the berry branches in Old Olive cardstock and the berries in Real Red cardstock. I attached the red berries with dabs of Multipurpose Glue, no easy feat either – thank goodness for the putty end of the Take Your Pick Tool!!! They are attached to the lantern with a Mini Glue Dot and the bow that is stamped in Real Red ink and die cut, is attached with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional. I added some Stampin’ Seal to the bottom of the lantern and a dimensional at the top and added it to the label. I sprinkled on rhinestones for bling.
For the inside, I stamped the sentiment and pinecone in Early Espresso, the pine bough in Old Olive ink on a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White.
And don’t forget to decorate your envelope! I stamped the last sentiment on the flap in Early Espresso ink.
