Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! I hope your week is going well. If this is your first time stopping by my little blog, welcome and please be sure to join my email list to keep up on all the scrappy news around here. Have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet this morning to see what we are casing (copy and share everything)? If not, here’s a look at this week’s sample and sketch:

Isn’t that a cute card? I love that bird! As you can see by my card, I really changed mine up this week.

My focus this week for my Facebook Live is the Softly Stippled DSP, so I thought I’d us that for this week’s cased card. I paired with the Stippled Roses Bundle.Since I changed up my card so much, here are the measurements for the layers:

  • Card base in Wild Wheat cardstock – 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Softly Stippled DSP – 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 3/4″ x 4″
  • Lost Lagoon cardstock – 1/2″ x 4″
  • Basic White cardstock die cut 3 15/16″ x 4 1/4″ and 3 3/4″ x 5″ for the inside

I know the sample shows DSP for the full card base, but unless I’m using up scraps, I hate cutting brand new DSP to 4 1/4″ – silly I know, but it’s one of those quirks! lol Guess it comes from scrapbooking. Now, Wild Wheat is not my favorite color, but I like how it’s paired with Lost Lagoon. I started by choosing my DSP and card base color and then which die to use for my sentiment layer. Once I die cut my white with the Deckled Rectangle Die, I stamped the leaves in Lost Lagoon ink. Next I die cut the flowers in Wild Wheat and added them to the layer with Mini Glue Dots. Since my sentiment was too large for a strip that the sample called for, I decided to stamp it in the center of my leaves in Wild Wheat ink. The layer looked lost on the DSP, so I inked the edges in Wild Wheat ink with a Sponge Dauber. Before I added it, I decided to add my strips of DSP and Lost Lagoon. The strip of DSP is actually the backside of the layer that I used on the front of the card. I attached my DSP layers and the strip of Lost Lagoon with Stampin’ Seal Adhesive and then added my leaf layer with dimensionals. I added a bow in the Wild Wheat Jute Twine with a couple of Mini Glue Dots as it is heavier than regular twine. For my bling, I add some of the new Iridescent Foil Gems.

For the inside, I stamped the leaves again in Lost Lagoon and added a couple more of the die cut flowers. I didn’t add a sentiment as I thought it would be a nice card to write a message in.

For the envelope (no naked envelopes!! lol) I stamped the leaves again in Lost Lagoon ink.

Now it’s your turn. Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. You can create it just like the sample or change it up like I did; it’s all up to you! The fun part of casing is you get to put your spin on it!

The DSP I used today will also be featured in my Facebook Live today at 1:00 over at my Scraps by Sissy Facebook Page. I will also be using the Softly Sophisticated Bundle today. You can get all three of these items for FREE with qualifying purchases because it’s Sale-a-bration! What is Sale-a-bration?
