Happy Tuesday everyone and welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday project! I hope your week is going well. If this is your first time visiting my little neck of the woods, welcome and please be sure to join my email list to keep up on all the scrappy news around here! Have you had a chance to stop by the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet this morning to see what we are casing (copy and share everything)? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:
Isn’t that a pretty card? I love the colors in that card! Since I’m always in need of birthday cards, I decided to create one using the Merry & Bold DSP. The minute I saw that paper, I instantly thought of birthdays!
I chose the sstripes paper and trimmed it to the layer measurements in the sketch and added it to a Blueberry Bushel card base. I pulled out my Throughout the Year stamp set from the September – December Mini Catalog. If you’re on a budge and can only get a couple of things, this stamp set should be one of them. It covers so many occasions! I stamped the birthday sentiment in Blueberry Bushel ink on a sentiment tag from the Something Fancy die set. It’s a little smaller than the label measurements on the sketch, but it fits perfectly for this card. I trimmed a scrap of Blueberry Bushel to the strip measurements in the sketch and attached it with Stampin’ Seal. Next I added a piece of the Pool Party Grosgrain ribbon to the layer and then attached it to the card front with Seal. I added my label with dimensionals, added a faux bow and rhinestones and the front was done.
My inside layer is a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White left over from a previous project. The sentimen I chose from the stamp set actually says “Cheers to you and the New Year”, so I masked the “and the New Year” and stamped inked in Blueberry Bushel ink and stamped it. I then added a 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ strip of the DSP and attached it all to the inside of the card.
And of course I had to add more of that gorgeous DSP to the envelope flap! It really ties it all together!
Doesn’t that paper make the perfect birthday paper?!? I just love it! It’s so bright and cheery! Now it’s your turn. Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. You can create it just like the sample or change it up. It’s all up to you! That’s the fun part of casing – you get to create it your way.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope I was able to inspire you and that you get a chance to play along with us. Enjoy the rest of your week!
