Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday!! I hope your week is going well. If this is your first time visiting my little blog, welcome and please be sure to join my email list to keep up on all the scrappy news around here. So have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet this morning to see what we are casing (copy and share everything)? If not, here’s a look at this week’s sample and sketch:
Isn’t that a cut card? As you can see, I went the easy way and didn’t cut strips to create my layer. I decided to keep it somewhat simple. If you aren’t sure what CASE-ing Tuesday is about, we case cards every week out of the current Stampin’ Up! catalogs. You don’t have to use just Stampin’ Up! product, but we would like it if you used something from Stampin’ Up! 😉
I decided to play with that gorgeous Hello, Irresistible DSP and the coordinating bundle. It is still available as part of the Online Exclusives, along with the beautiful White Glitter Ribbon that I used. I started with choosing my piece of DSP and my card base, which is in Lost Lagoon. I followed all of the measurements in the sketch for my card. Sketches make creating so much easier! Just pick your papers, cut them to the measurements and create! I love simple! I trimmed my two layers, the DSP and a scrap of Basic White. I attached the DSP with Stampin’ Seal then stamped my white layer. I used Soft Sea Foam for the speckles and Lost Lagoon, stamped off for the leaves. The sentiment is stamped in Pretty Peacock ink. I was going to stamp the flower, but decided to follow the look of white outlines in the DSP. I stamped the smaller flower in Versa Mark ink on a scrap of Lost Lagoon and heat embossed some white embossing powder. Since I was using white embossing powder on colored cardstock, I used the Embossing Buddy on the cardstock before I stamped the image to eliminate any static on the cardstock. This way I didn’t get any flecks of embossing powder stuck on the cardstock where I didn’t want it. After it cooled, I die cut the flower and some of the leaves in Pretty Peacock cardstock and assembled them with Mini Glue Dots. I added the white layer to the card front dimensionals. I then added some Stampin’ Seal to the back of the leaves and flower and added some of that gorgeous glittered ribbon and then added it all to the front with dimensionals. I then sprinkled on some of the Iridescent Pearls for extra bling.
For the inside, I stamped a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White. I followed the white layer on the front, except this time I stamped the flower in Lost Lagoon. The sentiment should have been in Pretty Peacock, but I got interrupted and stamped it in Lost Lagoon…oh well. It still looks good though!
I could have added some of that beautiful DSP to the envelope flap, but I chose to stamp the front like I did the inside.
Now it’s your turn. Create your take on this week’s sample or sketch and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. You can create it exactly as is, or change it up. It’s all up to you! That’s the fun part of casing – you get to create it your way!
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope I was able to inspire you today. If there’s anything I used that you would like to add to your collection, I would be honored if you shopped with me. Anyone who places an order that is $40.00 or more by Wednesday at my online store will not only get a thank you card and 5 handmade cards, but I’m going to send you the project packets from our upcoming August Stamp Club that meets this Friday. You’ll get a printed tutorial along with everything you need to create 6 full cards with envelopes. You will need to provide your own bling, stamps and ink. If you don’t have what I used, not a problem, just use what you have on hand! If you order after Wednesday, I will send you a packet from a past class.
Thanks again for stopping by and I hope you have a fantastic week!
