Happy 4th of July! And welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday!! I know today is going to be a busy day for everyone in the US with bbq’s, fireworks and other family fun times, but we’re still casing the catalog! If this is your first time stopping by my little blog, I am so glad you are here and would love it if you would join my email list to stay connected! So, have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group this morning to see what we are casing (copy and share everything) this week? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:
This week I decided to use the same bundle as the sample, the Wonderful Thoughts Bundle. Plus, I followed all the measurements that are listed in the sketch.
Since I just received a pack of the Masterfully Made DSP and thought it would be perfect for the 3 1/2″ x 5″ layer on the card. I started with an Azure Afternoon card base and added a piece of that beautiful DSP layer. Next I created the little strip layers in Azure Afternoon, Pretty Peacock and Night of Navy cardstock scraps and my trimmer. Since I love the colors in the paper so much, I thought it would be perfect to add the Pretty Peacock and Night of Navy into the strips. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set in Night of Navy on one of the Azure Afternoon strips to make it pop. Then I used a dauber and added some Night of Navy ink on each strip to help them stand out, and then added them to the card base with dimensionals. It was at this point that I realized there was a die to create these strips! oops! Oh well, cutting them with my paper trimmer worked out just fine! lol Next I die cut two flowers with the die that comes in the set in Basic White. I added them to the card front with Mini Glue Dots. I then pulled out my Adhesive-Backed Sequin Trio pack and added the Pretty Peacock ones to the flowers and the white ones throughout the card.
For the inside, I die cut another flower in Pretty Peacock cardstock and added it to a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White. Then I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy again.
And of course, I had to use another strip of that beautiful DSP to the envelope flap.
You know, when I first say this paper, it didn’t really excite me. Then when the DSP sale started, I thought that was the perfect time to get a pack.
So now it’s your turn. Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. You can create it exactly like the sample, or change it up. It’s all up to you! That’s the fun part of casing – you get to create it your way! Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you have a safe 4th and enjoy celebrating our country’s birthday!
