Happy Tuesday everyone and welcome to my little slice in the world! I hope your week is going well. I am so happy you stopped by today! If this is your first time, please be sure to join my email list to keep up on all the scrappy news around here. So have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet to see what we are casing (copy and share everything) this week? If not, here’s the sample and the sketch:
Isn’t that a sweet card? It’s actually a note-sized card at 3 1/2″ x 5″, but I converted mine to a full-sized A2 card at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″ piece of Azure Afternoon cardstock.
Once I created my card base, I trimmed a scrap of Basic White to the measurements in the sketch. My white layer is actually inspired by a swap card I received from a good friend, Andrea Brown. She creates the most beautiful DSP from our stamp sets and the Two-Tone Flora is one of the sets she loves to use. She gave me the tip that it is easier to stamp these flowers by stamping the veins in the flower first and then the rest of the flower over the veins…and she was right! I stamped the veins in Azure Afternoon and solid images in stamped off Coastal Cabana inks. Next I stamped the leaves in Berry Burst ink and then I added some of the flower center images in Lemon Lolly ink. Since my white layer had so much color in it and I had planned on using Coastal Cabana cardstock for my sentiment labels, I went with a piece of the new Vellum Basics for my 3 1/2″ x 5″ layer. I added it to the card front with Stampin’ Seal and then the white layer over it with more Seal. I then stamped my sentiments from the Happy Labels stamp set in Azure Afternoon on my sentiment labels and added them to the card with dimensionals. For my bling, I added some of the Festive Pearls in silver. I LOVE those pearls!!
For the inside, I repeated the flower and leaves theme on the corner of a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White and the sentiment in Azure Afternoon.
And don’t forget your envelope! I again repeated the flowers and leaves on the flap. I think it really ties the entire project together.
Isn’t that a color project?? I think the Two-Tone Flora is my new favorite stamp set!! Thanks Andrea for the inspiration!! Now it’s your turn! Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. You can create it exactly like the sample or change it up. That’s the fun part of casing – you get to make it your way!
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope I was able to inspire you. Have a great rest of your week!
