Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! I hope your week is going well. If this is your first time visiting my neck of the woods, welcome and please be sure to join my email list here to keep up on all the scrappy news around here! Have been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group this morning to see what we are casing (copy and share everything)? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:

As blogger for the CASE-ing Tuesday Group, we all get to pick cards to case from every catalog that goes live, and this sample card is the one I chose. Isn’t it cute? It not only reminds me of my something that my grandson, Charlie would love, but it also reminds me of my former job with Caltrans. I can just hear the slogan “Slow for the Cone Zone”. LOL some things just never get old! lol So, since I don’t have that stamp set, yet, I went with one that carried over from the last catalog that I never had the chance to use; By My Side.

The image of that little boy made me think of Charlie, especially since his birthday is coming up in a few days! I followed all of the measurements from the sketch for my card. I started with a Misty Moonlight card base and added a piece of the new Bright & Beautiful DSP to the front. The yellow striped piece is the back side of the DSP I used and was leftover after I trimmed my layer. Before I attached the layers to the card front, I wrapped some Linen Thread around it and then attached it with Stampin’ Seal. I then added a strep of Misty Moonlight for the 4 1/4″ x 1/2″ strip. Next I trimmed a scrap of Basic White to the 3 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ and stamped my images in Memento Ink. I colored him with the Wild Wheat Stampin’ Blends for his hair, Misty Moonlight for the shorts and shoes, Parakeet Party for the shirt, the Medium Light for his skin tone, Smoky Slate for the dog and the dark Crumb Cake for the dirt. I then added the layer with dimensionals. I tied a double bow in the Linen Thread and added it with a Mini Glue Dot right next to the edge. For the sentiment strip, I grabbed a scrap of Parakeet Party cardstock and stamped the sentiment from the stamp set in Misty Moonlight ink. I flagged the ends with the Pick a Banner Punch and attached it with Seal. Next I colored my rhinestones with the Dark Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blends and added them for bling.

Since this is going to be a birthday card, I pulled out my retired A Grand Kid stamp set and stamped two of the sentiments on a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White. I then trimmed a 1/2″ x 5″ piece of the DSP and added it with Seal and then attached both layers to the inside.

And don’t forget to decorate you envelope! I stamped just the dog on the envelope and colored him with the Smoky Slate Blends.

Now it’s your turn! Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. You can create it just like the sample or change it up. The fun part of casing is you get to make it your way!

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope I was able to inspire you today. If you are looking for a demonstrator, I would love to help you out! Have a great Tuesday and be sure to take some time out for yourself!
