Happy Thursday! And welcome to my CASE-ing Tuesday and Facebook Live project for the week! I know it’s been a minute since I have been around. It was really busy the last two weeks getting ready for my Creative Escape Retreat this past weekend. But I’m back! If this is your first time stopping by my little neck of the woods, welcome and please be sure to join my email list here to keep up on all the scrappy news around here! And since it’s Thursday, I created this week’s card on my Facebook Live. I used the new Boho Blue Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and shared a tip to make it easier to run your dies through. I also shared all of the projects and pillow gifts from my retreat on the video as well. If you weren’t able to watch the live, you can catch the replay on my YouTube Channel here. While you’re there, I would love it if you gave my video a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel if you aren’t a subscriber.
So, have you been by the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook yet this week to see what we are casing? If not, here’s a look at this week’s sample and sketch:
Isn’t that a cute card? Since next week is Valentine’s Day, I thought I’d make a Valentine card and went with those adorable gnomes! The little guy holding the heart is sooooo cute! And since this Valentine card isn’t very mushy, it makes it perfect to give to a friend!
I followed all of the measurements from the sketch for my card, except I only went with one sentiment label. I started with a Sweet Sorbet card base and trimmed my strips pf DSP from the Country Floral Lane pack. The strips of DSP are attached with Stampin’ Seal Adhesive. I die cut my frame with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies and attached it to the card front with Mini Dimensionals. I then stamped my gnome in Memento ink and colored it with my Tahitian Tide, Smoky Slate, Parakeet Part, Sweet Sorbet and Starry Sky Stampin’ Blends. His nose is colored with the Ivory Blends Marker. I die cut him with the coordinating gnome die. I love that the dies carried over to the Jan-April Mini Catalog! Once he was die cut, I added him to the card front with dimensionals. I stamped my sentiment in Starry Sky ink and flagged the edges with my Paper Snips. Since I was only going to have one sentiment label, I decided to add some ribbon in lieu of the second label. I cut a strip of ribbon that when folded in half, measured 2 3/4″ long. I attached the ribbon together with Mini Glue Dots, snipped the edges and added it to the back of my sentiment label with Stampin’ Seal. I then added it to the card front with dimensionals and sprinkled on some of the Milky Dots for my bling.
For the inside, I added a piece of 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White that I stamped the sentiment in Starry Sky ink and the squirrel in Memento ink. I colored the squirrel with my Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends and attached the layer with Stampin’ Seal.
And what better way to decorate your envelope than with some of that gorgeous DSP???
