Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! I hope your week is going well. If this is your first time stopping my little place, welcome! And please be sure to join my email list. Have you had a chance to stop by the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet this morning to see what we are casing (copy and share everything)? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:
Isn’t that a cute card? I struggled with this one this week when I tried to use a piece of vellum like in the sample, so I decided not to fight it! lol I chose the Blessings of Home stamp set with my favorite color combination – blue and yellow!
All of my measurements are the same as the ones in the sketch. I love using sketches; especially when I am in a hurry (which is most of the time! lol). I chose a Night of Navy card base from my stash and just had to use a piece of the new Gingham Cottage DSP in So Saffron. I then went with a scrap of Basic White that trimmed to the measurements. I stamped my image in Sahara Sand ink and let it sit for a minute since I was going to use watercolor pencils. If you start watercoloring right away, you can smear the ink since it’s water based. Next I took out my Watercolor Pencils and added started coloring. I used Garden Green, Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo and Early Espresso watercolor pencils. Then I pulled out one of my Blender Pens and blended everything. Once that was done, I added Wink of Stella for some shimmer. You can actually blend with it as well, so where some of the color hadn’t blended yet, I could pull in more color. Once I finished, I added the two layers to the card front with Stampin’ Seal. For the sentiment I trimmed a scrap of So Saffron cardstock to the measurements and stamped the sentiment from the set in Night of Navy. For my ribbon, I used a piece of the White Frayed Ribbon and a piece of Linen Thread. I attached it with Tear & Tape adhesive, which is perfect for ribbon! I attached my sentiment over the ribbon with some more Tear & Tape and a couple of Mini Dimensionals. I then added some of the 2021/2023 In Color Opal Rounds. The Pale Papaya go really well with yellow, don’t you think?
For the inside, I trimmed another scrap of Basic White to 3 3/4″ x 5″ and stamped the larger flower image in Sahara Sand, stamping off first and then the sentiment in Night of Navy.
And don’t forget to decorate your envelope! I added some more of that beautiful DSP to the flap.
Now it’s your turn! Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. You can create it exactly like the sample or change it up a little or a lot – it’s all up to you. That’s what is so fun with casing; you get to put your spin on it!
Thank you so much for stopping by this morning. I hope I was able to inspire you!
