Happy Tuesday and welcome to a new CASE-ing Tuesday project! I hope your week is going well. If this is your first time visiting my neck of the woods, welcome and please be sure to join my email list to keep up on all the scrappy news around here. Have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet this morning to see what we are casing (copy and share everything)? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:
Isn’t that a cute card? When I saw the sketch for this week’s card, my mind immediately went to the Cheerful Basket stamp set!
I followed all of the measurements from the sketch for my card. I had started to play with this set awhile ago and never finished the project, so the crafting supplies image was already stamped in Basic Gray. I then colored the supplies using the Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, Sweet Sorbet, Basic Black, and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends, our version of alcohol markers. I die cut the image with the coordinating die and set it aside. I then stamped the basket in Early Espresso ink on a scrap of Basic White. I colored it with the Soft Suede Stampin; Blends and then cut it out with the die. i then die cut a scrap of Tahitian Tide cardstock with the little napkin die from the set and set all the die cuts aside. I had another scrap of Basic White, so I trimmed it to the measurements and added the scrap of 2022/2024 In Color DSP to the end with Stampin’ Seal. I added a piece of the Parakeet Party Baker’s Twine to the bottom and secured each end in Stampin’ Seal. I added some more adhesive and added it to the card front. I added the basket to the card with dimensionals and then the supplies above that with dimensionals. I then added the napkin with some Stampin’ Seal and colored it with Wink of Stella to give it some shimmer. I trimmed a scrap of Tahitian Tide to the measurements, stamped the sentiment from the kit in Early Espresso ink and added it to the card. I added some of the Iridescent Pearls for my bling and thought, something is missing…..so I added a bow of twine to the bottom. Perfect!
For the inside, I had a leftover 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White, so I added that to the inside. I stamped the sentiment and added a 1″ x 3 3/4″ piece of the DSP that was also a scrap. I wanted something a little more, so I stamped the butterfly from the set in Early Espresso and colored it with the Tahitian Tide and Parakeet Party Stampin’ Blends. I used the coordinating die to cut it out and added it to the inside of the card with a Mini Glue Dot. Of course I had to add Wink of Stella to it!!! lol
And don’t forget to decorate your envelope! I added some more of that bright and cheery paper to the flap.
Now it’s your turn. Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. You can create it just like the sample, or change it up a little or a lot; it’s all up to you. That’s the fun part of casing – you make it your way!
