Happy Tuesday and welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday project! I hope your week is going well. If this is your first time visiting my neck of the woods, welcome and be sure to join my email list to keep up on all the scrappy news around here. So, have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet this morning to see what we are casing (copy and share everything)? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:
I love that we have sketches! It really helps when it comes time to create. I decided to use the new Perfectly Penciled DSP and the Charming Sentiment stamp set for my take on this week’s card.
I followed the measurements in the sketch for my card. See how easy the sketch makes it when your casing? I started with a Thick Basic White card base and then trimmed the Basic Black Layer and the DSP layers to the measurements in the sketch. I flagged the ends of the strip with the Banners Pick a Punch. The DSP is a gorgeous pack of black and white prints, which is what I was going for with my card. Then I decided to add pops of color. I used my watercolor pencils and one of the Blender Pens. Then to add some sparkle, I colored over everything with my Wink of Stella. Then for another pop, I colored 3 of the rhinestones with my Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blends Marker, our version of alcohol markers, and added them to the layer. I stamped my sentiment in Bermuda Bay ink and then layered everything with some Stampin’ Seal. As I sit here typing this, I realized that one of my layers is a little crooked. Oops! It’s handmade!! lol
For the inside, I added another strip of the DSP that measured 3/4″ x 5 1/2″ and stamped my sentiment in Bermuda Bay ink.
And don’t forget to decorate your envelope! I added some more of the DSP but didn’t color it.
Isn’t that pretty paper? Now it’s your turn. Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the FB Group. You can create it exactly like the sample or change it up a little or a lot. It’s all up to you, which is what’s so fun about casing! You get to make it with your flair!
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope I have inspired you to get inky! Have a great Tuesday.
