Hey everyone! Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! I hope your week is going well. If this is your first time visiting my neck of the woods, welcome and please be sure to join my email list to keep up on all the scrappy news around here. Have you had a chance to stop by the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet this morning to see what we are casing (copy and share everything)? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:
Isn’t that a cute card? I chose to use a retiring stamp and punch set today, kind of like a last look at one my favorites. I chose the Sweet Strawberry stamp set with the Strawberry Builder punch. I was shocked when I saw this on the Last Chance List! It is definitely a fun one that will be greatly missed!
Here’s a look at my card:
As you can see, I followed the sketch pretty closely. I started with a card base in Just Jade, also a retiring color, that was in my stash. It measures 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″. I love it when I can use up items in my stash…in fact, this whole card is created with scraps! Woo hoo!! I started by stamping the vine image in Just Jade ink in opposite corners of the Basic White layer and then colored the centers of the leaves with the Just Jade Light Stampin’ Blends, our version of alcohol markers. I added a little of Light Daffodil Delight Blends for the flower centers. To bring in more of the Poppy Parade, I grabbed a scrap that measures 3 3/4″ x 4 1/2″. I trimmed my white layer to 3 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ so it would fit properly and added it to the card front with Stampin’ Seal. I stamped 3 of the strawberries and leaf toppers in Tuxedo Black ink and then added some stamped off Poppy Parade and Just Jade inks and then punched them out. I assembled them with Mini Glue Dots and set them aside. I then trimmed my sentiment strip to the measurements and stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black ink. I had this gorgeous Just Jade and gold metallic ribbon sitting on my desk, so I trimmed a piece to the measurements and added it to the back of the sentiment strip with some more Stampin’ Seal Adhesive. That’s one of the things I like best about our adhesive, you can attach ribbon! I then added dimensionals to the back of the strip and added it to the card front. I then added the strawberries, also with dimensionals and topped it all off with some rhinestones.
For the inside, I had a scrap of Basic White that measures 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ and stamped the vine in the upper corner with Just Jade ink, stamping off. I also added some of Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends to the centers. I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black and added it to the inside of the card.
And don’t forget to decorate your envelope!
Now it’s your turn! Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the FB Group. You can create it exactly like the sample or change it up a little or a lot; it’s all up to you! That’s the fun part of casing – you make it your way. Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you have a great rest of your week!
