Happy Tuesday and welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday project!! I hope your week is going well. If this is your first time in my part of the world, welcome and please be sure to join my email list to keep up on all the scrappy news around here! Have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet this morning to see what we are casing (copy and share everything)? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:
Isn’t that a cute card? That is creating using the Hello Beautiful stamp set, Abstract Beauty DSP, and Abstract Beauty Ephemera Pack. Have you played with it yet? It is definitely a sleeper item in the catalog! So, I chose to use it and really change it up!
I started by choosing my piece of DSP from the pack, which is a new size at 4″ x 6″ and perfect for card making. I chose a Petal Pink card base from my stash and to add in some of the black and make it pop, I added a 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of Basic Black cardstock to layer with the DSP that I trimmed to 4″ x 5 1/4″. I love the gold foiling in this pack of paper! To stick with the sketch, I chose the frame from the ephemera pack and added it to the card front with Mini Dimensionals. Next I trimmed the scrap of the DSP I had just cut off the base layer to the sketch measurements, flipped it over to the back side and added it with more dimensionals. The heart in the ephemera pack didn’t have the right color schemes so I decided to die cut one in Smoky Slate cardstock using the heart die from the Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder set that includes 9 dies. I love the shape of those hearts in the set! Next I decided to die cut one of the smaller circles from the Beautiful Shapes Dies and use that for my sentiment. I stamped the background in stamped off Petal Pink ink, the sentiment in Tuxedo Black and the line underneath in Basic Gray ink. The sentiment is actually a one line stamp, so I masked the words and stamped them separately to create a two-lined sentiment. I attached that to the heart, then added dimensionals to both and added them to the card front. Instead of another layer of paper, I added a bow in black twine. And I still wanted to add some bling, but not too over the top, so I used some of the Elegant Faceted Gems in Petal Pink and Clear. They were the perfect touch!
For my inside layer, I had a scrap of Basic White that I trimmed to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and used the last little piece left of the DSP and added it to the edge to coordinate with the outside. I stamped another solid image from the stamp set in Petal Pink, stamping off first and the sentiment in black. The sentiment is from the Sale-a-bration Calming Camellia stamp set. I thought it was the perfect sentiment for this card.
And don’t forget to decorate your envelope! I stamped another image from the set in Petal Pink and the sentiment in black. I know the sentiment isn’t straight, but hey, it’s handmade, right?
Now it’s your turn. Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over on the FB Group. You can create it exactly like the sample or change it up a little or a lot – it’s all up to you! That’s the fun part of casing; you make it your way!
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope I have inspired you enough to go get inky! Have a great Tuesday!!
