Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! I hope your week is going well. Can you believe this is the last Tuesday of January?!? Wow!!! It is incredible how fast this first month of the new year has gone! If this is your first time visiting my neck of the woods, welcome! Be sure to join my email list to keep up on all the scrappy news around here. So, have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet this morning to see what we are casing (copy and share everything)? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:

Isn’t that a pretty card? Here’s a look at my take:

As you can see, I changed my up just a little bit. I followed the measurements for everything except my sentiment label. And my panels are attached in the opposite direction of the sample. I knew when I saw the sample that I wanted to use the New Horizons DSP. If you haven’t seen that paper yet, check out the Jan-June Mini Catalog on page 43. I know the picture doesn’t give it justice, but at least you get an idea of how pretty it is; and when you add the On the Horizon stamp set? Easy peasy beautiful cards!! I started by choosing the sheet of paper from the stack and then trimmed it to 4″ in length. Next I stamped my trees in Memento ink, but looking back, Basic Gray would have worked too. I then trimmed my panels. Since the tree image was on the left, I made that side the larger panel, and then continued to trim each panel. I attached them to a Basic White layer and then attached it all to the Fresh Freesia card front. Then I realized that I had forgotten to stamp the birds. OOPS! So I inked a portion at a time and stamped them on the panels. Next, I thought that the size of the label in the sketch would take away from my stamped images, so I chose the small die from the Stitched So Sweetly set. I stamped the sentiment in Basic Gray ink and die cut it. Since I wasn’t going to add any other die cuts, I decided ribbon would work. I tied a large bow in the Fresh Freesia ribbon (have I mentioned that this ribbon in all of the In Colors is my favorite???) I added the bow with a couple of Mini Glue Dots and then added the label with more glue dots. And of course I had to add some bling, so I added one of the In Color Jewels in the Fresh Freesia color. I thought the bottom of the printed paper looked like fig, so I added some Wink of Stella on all of the panels. It looks really pretty in person, but it doesn’t show in the photo. Wink of Stella is hard to photograph.

For the inside I had a scrap of Basic White that measures 3 3/4″ x 5″ and stamped the trees and birds in opposite corners in Basic Gray, stamped off. Then I stamped the sentiment in first generation Basic Gray.

I think if I create another of these cards I will stamp the sentiments in Fresh Freesia ink for better contrast. But hey, this works just fine for now. And don’t forget to decorate your envelope! I wanted to use all of the DSP from the one 6″ x 6″ piece of DSP, so I added one of the strips to the envelope flap. I did have to trim the flap down after I added it as the strip of DSP was short, but worse case scenario is I will add some adhesive to the flap when I close the envelope.

Now it’s your turn. Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. You can create it exactly like the sample or change it up a little or a lot.
