Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! I hope your week is going well. Can you believe it is already December?!? Wow! This year has flown by!!! If this is your first time here, welcome and please be sure to join my email list to keep up on all the scrappy news around here. Have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet this morning to see what we are casing (copy and share everything)? If not, here’s a look at the sample and sketch:
Isn’t this a cute card? I love fun fold cards of any kind and this gatefold is a favorite! After seeing so many pastel Christmas cards the last few weeks, I just had to give one a try this week.
I hadn’t used the Poinsettia Petals stamp and coordinating die set at all this year, so I thought it was time. I followed the measurements in the sketch for my card base, but my label is larger, which I thought went better with such a large die cut. I started with a Mint Macaron card base and then added some of the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP for my layers. I love the pink and soft green in the paper! I then pulled out the dies and some scraps of Blushing Bride and Mossy Meadow cardstocks. I die cut one each of the three flower petals and two each of the large and small holly leave dies. I then grabbed a couple of Sponge Daubers and inked on some Blushing Bride and Mossy Meadow inks on the die cuts to bring out the embossing part of the cut. The set comes with the out line die and then a center that can be place with in the die to emboss while you die cut. I then used my Bone Folder to curl the leaves on the flowers to give them more dimension and attached them together with a Mini Dimensional between each flower. Once the entire flower was assembled, I used Mini Glue Dots to attach the leaves on the back. Next I die cut a Basic White label using one of the Seasonal Label dies and stamped my sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink. I attached it to the left side of the gate with some Stampin’ Seal and then added my poinsettia with dimensionals. I add pearls to the center of the flower for that perfect touch of subtle bling.
For the inside, I trimmed a scrap of Basic White to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and then stamped the poinsettia in Blushing Bride ink and the leaves in Mossy Meadow ink, stamping off first for both. I then added the sentiment from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink and attached it with Stampin’ Seal.
And don’t forget to decorate you envelope! I repeated the flower images on the front of the envelope.
So what do you think? I have never decorated in the pastels for Christmas, but I’m thinking that’s about to change! 😉 Now it’s your turn. Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the FB Group. You can create it exactly like the sample or change it up a little or a lot; it’s all up to you! That’s the fun part of casing – you create it how you want to! If you aren’t a member of the group yet, not worries, just answer the participant questions and you’ll be able to play along!
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope I was able to inspire you today and that you’ll head over to the FB Group and play along. Have a great Tuesday and take time to get inky!!
