Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! I hope your week is going well. If this is your first time visiting my neck of the woods, please be sure to join my email list to keep up on all the scrappy news around here. Have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group this morning to see what we are casing (copy and share everything) this week? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:

Isn’t that a pretty card? And that layer at an angle is adorable! And I just love that we include sketches as it really makes creating so much easier!! This week I decided to use the Be Jolly stamp set.

I followed all the measurements in the sketch for my card. My card base is in Thick Basic White. I started with a piece of the DSP from the Gingerbread & Peppermint DSP pack that I trimmed to the measurements listed. Next I grabbed a scrap of Basic White and trimmed to the measurements. I stamped my Santa and sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Then the fun part – coloring him with my Stampin’ Blends Markers (Stampin’ Up!’s version of alcohol markers). I started with the Light Real Red and then added some accents with the Dark Real Red. Next I colored his face and ears using the Ivory marker and the Light Calypso Coral for his rosy cheeks. I used the light Smoky Slate for the opening in his mouth and to accent his beard. I colored his belt, boots and mittens with the Light Basic Black Marker. The Dark Basic Black was too dark and would have covered all the lines in the image. I added some Dark Daffodil Delight for his buckle and then Wind of Stella on the trim of his suit and hat. It really gave it a sparkly effect. I then added it to the piece of DSP with some Stampin’ Seal. I next added some more Seal to the back of the layer and added my piece of Sheer Real Red ribbon and tucking it into the adhesive. This helps keep the bulk down rather than wrapping it around the layer. I attached it to the card front and then added another little strip of ribbon to create a faux bow. I added some of our Red Rhinestones, afterwards realizing it looks like he’s juggling.  🙂

For the inside, since I was going to color the bird image, I decided to use a piece of Basic White. That way the alcohol markers won’t bleed into the back of the card base. I used a scrap that measured 3 3/4″ x 5″ and stamped the bird and sentiment from the Holly Jolly Wishes stamp set in Memento. The bird is colored in Real Red and the hat in Old Olive to coordinate with the DSP. And of course I had to add more Wink of Stella. I attached it to the inside with more Seal and then added a little 1/2″ x 5″ strip of DSP at the bottom.

And don’t forget to decorate your envelope! I used some more of that adorable DSP so that it all coordinates!

Now it’s your turn! Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the FB Group. You can create it exactly like the sample or change it up a little or a lot; it’s all up to you! That’s the fun part of casing – it’s all up to you! And if you’re aren’t a member of the group yet, not a problem! Just request to join! We would love to have you come and play along!

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!
