Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! I hope your week is going well. If this is your first time visiting my little neck of the woods, welcome! And please be sure to join my email list to keep up on all the scrappy news around here. Have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group this morning to see what we are casing (copy and share everything)? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:
Isn’t that a pretty card? I just love the coloring on it! I followed the sample and sketch for my card measurements, but my sentiment tag is a little larger. It measures 2 3/4″ x 3/4″, and is cut from a die that is part of the Quiet Meadow Bundle.
I wanted to create a fall card with the Blackberry Beauty Specialty DSP and chose that beautiful piece that has the gold foiling on it. The larger 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ panel on my Cinnamon Cider card base is actually the back side of that gorgeous piece. The foiled side was a little too much, so I used the more subtle side for the card front. When I looked closer to the tonal pattern, I realized how well it went with the dies in the Quiet Meadow Bundle! Score! Makes your supplies go even farther!! I started by die cutting my two tags using the largest straight edged tag from the Tailor Made Tag die set. I also cut the sentiment label, the flower stems and the little tag topper in Blackberry Bliss cardstock. I stamped the flower image from the Quiet Meadow stamp set in Cider Cinnamon ink, stamping off first. I used some of the liquid glue to attach the little tag topper to the Very Vanilla tag. I then added some adhesive to the back of the Very Vanilla tag and attached it to the DSP tag, making sure to line up the holes in the tags. I added some of the gold trim from the Simply Elegant trim pack, and tied it in a large bow. I then assembled the other layers. I glued the subtle side of the DSP to the card front and added the Blackberry Bliss flower stems with some of the liquid glue. I added the tags with dimensionals over the flowers. I stamped the sentimient from the stamp set in Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with some gold embossing powder. I added the tag with more dimensionals and sprinkled on some of the gold pearls. I thought it needed just a little something, so I die cut the butterfly in a scrap of the Brushed Metallic paper and added it to the tag with a Mini Glue Dot and then added some more of the gold pearls.
I thought that little butterfly was the perfect touch! What do you think? For the inside I had a scrap of Very Vanilla that measures 3 3/4″ x 5″ and just stamped the splatter image in stamped off Cider Cinnamon ink and the flower in stamped off Blackberry Bliss ink. I didn’t stamp a sentiment yet as I am not sure who is going to get this card.
And of course, I repeated this same stamping on the envelope flap. No naked envelopes!!! lol
Now it’s your turn! Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the FB Group. You can create it exactly like the sample or change it up a little or a lot; it’s all up to you. And if you’re not a member of the group yet, no problem. Just ask to join; we would love to have you come and play along with us!
Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope I was able to give you some inspiration. Have a great rest of your day and I hope you have a chance to get inky with us!
