Welcome to another CASE-ing Tuesday! I hope your week is going well. Have you been over to the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group yet today to see what we are casing (copy and share everything)? If not, here’s a look at the sample and the sketch:
Isn’t that card adorable? I just think that little critter is so cute! I don’t have that set, so I went with the new Turtle Friends Bundle. That little turtle is just so stinking cute!!
I followed the measurements from the sketch and the look of the sample while turning it into a landscape style card. I was even able to use some scrap pieces to create my card. I had a leftover card base in Pear Pizzazz cut at 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″ and then I added my 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Pear Pizzazz that I embossed with the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder. I then cut 6 pieces of the Subtles DSP at the following measurements: 2 cut at 1″ x 3 1/2″, 2 cut at 3/4″ x 3″ and 2 cut at 1/2″ x 3″ in So Saffron and Soft Seafoam colors. I attached the embossed layer with Stampin’ Seal adhesive and then layered all my strips on top, also using Stampin’ Seal. I then stamped my turtle in Pear Pizzazz ink. It’s a two-step stamp so both the turtle and the spots in his shell are in Pear Pizzazz ink. I colored his toe nails with the Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Marker. I punched him out and added him with dimensionals to the the piece of Basic White. I stamped the little bird and his bow tie in So Saffron ink. Here’s a hint….I cut the bow out with the bow tie die from the Hippo & Friends die set. I tried to fussy cut it out, but it is so tiny that I just couldn’t do it and make it look good. I added it to the turtle’s neck with a Mini Glue Dot and then added a tiny rhinestone and then two more on the layer. The Basic White strip for my sentiment is cut at the measurements from the sketch, but it just didn’t look right to me by itself, so I added it to a 2 1/2″ x 3/4″ piece of the Subtles DSP.
For the inside I cut a scrap of Basic White at 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ and stamped the turtles in Pear Pizzazz, stamping off first, and the hearts in So Saffron, which are also stamped off. The sentiment is also stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink.
And be sure to decorate your envelope! I embossed the flap with the Hammered Metal embossing folder too. It really ties the entire project together.
Now it’s your turn! Create your take on this week’s sample and share it with us over at the Facebook Group. You can create it exactly like the sample or change it up a little or a lot; it’s all up to you. That’s the fun part of casing – there are no rules! If you aren’t a member of our group yet, no problem, just request to join. We would love to have you come and play along with us.
Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!
